COLLECT CALLS
APRIL 26, 2011
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN - ZPDL COMPANY
WE HAVE BEEN CHARGED $166.99 FOR 7 COLLECT CALLS FROM A HALFWAY HOUSE IN PHILADELPHIA. BREAKDOWN AS $6.71 JUST TO CONNECT AND $.79 PER MIN. WE ARE VERY UPSET THAT YOUR COMPANY IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE. WITH THESE EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES FOR CALLS. IT COST ONLY 50 CENTS TO CALL DIRECT. I (DEBORAH) CALLED YOUR COMPANY AND SPOKE TO DEBBIE. FRIOM NCIC AT THAT TIME SHE OFFERED ME AN ADJUSTMENT THAT STILL LEFT A VERY HIGH COST. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR AND WAS TOLD SHE HAS NO SUPERVISOR. I WRITING TO ASK THAT YOU BE FARE IN ADJUSTING THIS BILL.
THANK YOU
ANTHONY & DEBORAH BRUNSWICK

Collect call charge
My mother called me from the airport in San Francisco letting me know when she would arrive in St. Paul, MN. She asked the operator how much a collect call would be. The operator didn't know (like hell!). We spoke for about a minute. I accepted the call believing it would cost $2 - $5. When I got my Qwest bill, ZPDI charged me $29 and change for a 4 minute call. The call, itself, was about $18, the rest were fees and taxes. I called Qwest and demanded they remove the fraudulent charge. They told me to call ZPDI. I did. The rep stated the charges would not be removed because I accepted the call. I told them they would not receive a dime and they were crooks. I called Qwest back. The nice rep called ZPDI letting them know I am disputing the charges. The charge was removed from my Qwest bill. If ZPDI sends me a bill, I will immediately forward it to the BBB and MN AG's office. ZPDI screwed with the wrong person!

fraudulent collect calls
my monthly phone bill with verizon went from $48.00 to almost $600.00 in ONE month.zpdi insists that someone accepted calls from a third party.no one is that stupid.i want the charges removed from my phone bill and zpdi to issue a credit or be prepared for an investigation from our attorney general MR.TOM CORBETT.i know he would be interested in exposing this company who preys on innocent people.this time they picked the wrong victim.i am not going to lose my home phone or have my credit ruined.no one at my home accepted any collect calls from anyone at any time $600.00 is absurd.that is all my utilities plus car insurance plus homeowners plus...

collect calls
My son lives in in San Jose Calif. and has no home phone. I'm in Summerville S.C and had five collect call and with no statement for June attact with my at&t statement. My July bill is $391.79 which is out of line. I phoned zpdi to send a copy for the June charges and was told to contact At&t billing department. At&t informed me they had nothing to do with zpid reporting of statements . Payment is due ! This zpdi should be shut down, due to the rip off that is happing to so many people, per the complaints.

Incorrect billing
I was billed for collect calls, not only at a time and date that they could not be made, but also for a length of time on the call that was not available at the facility I was staying. They refuse to change the charges without written documentation from the facility that the phones were not available to clients at the time they were billed and without documentation that the facility did nNOT allow calls over 20 mins.

Overcharged
I accepted two collect calls from my homeless brother who lives in Florida. Two separate calls for 19 minutes total. ZPDI charged me $90.53. Outrageous! There is nothing I can do except expose the name of the President and contact information for this snake.

unauthorized charges
I was charged an outrageous $23.60 for a 26 minute call. The operator did not identify herself as a ZPDI rep and I did not authorize any charges. If I'd known I was going to be charged, I wouldn't have continued the call.
When I called the company, they were totally unconcerned and inexplicably unable to "do anything", but kept repeating the same lines...I think I was talking to real people?

Bogus collect calls
ZPDI has repeatedly billed fraudulent collect call charges. We have a mentally ill daughter, mostly homeless, who attempts to call us collect on occasion. We have always (with only one exception) refused the calls. In March she attempted such a call, I answered the phone and as soon as I heard the recorded message, hung up. I did not push any buttons to accept the call. We still were billed around $25 for the call. I complained to Qwest who provided the pass through billing and paid their bill without the collect charges. I also contacted ZPDI, told them I had refused the call and accused them of deliberate fraud. They denied the fraud, but did, grudgingly, reverse the charges. In May, I got another bill from them, this time basically for the privilege of having been billed by them before. I again contacted Qwest as they are allowing this shyster organization to use them to forward these bogus charges. At first they refused to even listen, insisting I needed to deal with ZPDI. I insisted they share the blame and they conference ZPDI in. ZPDI insisted I had to have accepted the original call, which I had not and told them so. They again credited the charges. Just recently, I got another Qwest bill, this time with 2 collect calls on it. The first was actually legit as I had seen my daughter earlier in the day and knew there were some issues, so accepted it, knowing I would have to pay their exorbitant prices. The second charge, is as is usual, totally fraudulent.
I think this organization is about as sleazy as they come. They should be denied the right to pass charges through Qwest or anyone else. If this is their normal operating procedure for others also, they ought to be denied the right to operate. All such collect services ought to have to state upfront how much the call is going to cost before you decide to accept the charges. They now have unlimited license to charge anything they want.

Charged over $200 for collect calls
This company charged me over $200.00 on collect calls. Several times my children under the age of 18 accepted the calls. There was no rhyme or reason as to their per minute charges, and this company as well as any other company not regulated by the FCC needs to be addressed. Has anyone successfully gone up against this company and won? I am filing complaints with the Attorney General's office, my local government reps, and the local television stations. Somehow, companies like this need to stop price gauging and learn that we are consumers, and when someone is in trouble (hence the collect calls), there usually isn't a choice but to answer and accept. You're not thinking. You're very emotional. AND, allowing children to accept is totally irresponsible.
