For the past 2 weeks we keep getting a phone call from, an asian sounding man, a representative from microsoft windows 7 computor stating that we need to update the system and he always wants pertainant information. We keep telling him that we don't have a windows computer. I don't believe in this day and age that microsoft would be making phone calls instead of the internet. I bought a laptop for my daughter at christmas and the hinge broke from opening and closing it. I took it to a store to fix and they said that Hewitt Packer should fix it free since there was no damage to it. It looked like it was a bad hinge that was put in. I had a aircel prepaid phone in India. Seeing that they have 3G plan, I paid Rs900+ to get one month of 3G service. After purchasing it, the best download speed I could get was 120kbps. Sent my HTC phone in to HTC within the warranty. The phone had a crackling speaker. 4 months later HTC calls and tells me my phone has water damage and the LCD is bad and it is $190 to replace it. I told them they must have called the wrong person because my phone has a bad speaker and was never wet (2nd bad speaker btw). I followed the directions to claim the rebate and I received a reply from another company located in Connecticut that handles the rebates. They e-mail back to me that it takes 4-6 weeks. The second PC I purchased, after 13 years of living with and older, frustrating model from another manufacturer. The first one I bought (after my spouse's death) had a bad motherboard. I had to take it back about 50 miles to the vendor, and get a replacement. I did not relize it at the time, but the write head on this one's drive is defective, and I did not find this out until after the warranty had expired.
