unauthorized charges
My fiance Hector V. Diaz had subscribed to classmates.com over a year ago. He decided not to contiune with the membership. The charges were charged to my credit card. Since I furnished the information for biling, I decided to call to cancel the account. After cancelling the membership for my fiance Hector V. Diaz, there were no new charges until now.
I received my account statement for the month of October, 2009 and noticed that classmates.com without any authorization, and after cancelling the membership after one year ago, had the nerve to charge my account a fee of $39.00. I want this to stop. I want a full refund for the unauthorized charges and I want no further charges to my account

Lying and unauthorized charges
I contacted classmates.com about a month ago. They were using my brother's name to entice people to join classmates. The problem is my brother Died March 26th 2009. Classmates contacted a friend and neighbor of mine, (That my brother's and I we'nt all through school with). I told them they were being Very fraudelent by telling people he was trying to get in touch with them. They would'nt even appoligize, Even when I told them They owed my family an appoligy for using his name. While E-mailing them I ask them to cancel my membership and never bill me again, (I tried to do it by following their directions, I could'nt make it work)
I thought they would at least honor this request, after what they had done. Guess What?? They just billed me again. Now I'm trying to get them to refund that money. I would "NEVER" be a member of classmates.com again. Nor would I recommend them to Anyone !!! My personal opinion !! "VERY POOR" Business practices.

Online scam
This actually is a story for the entire country - Two years ago, I joined a website called classmates.com - this site will let you find old classmates, get reunion info, etc - In the two years that I had this service, I really never used - So, I was just going to let my subscription expire - Wrong! This website billed me for another two year subscription - When you call the number to talk to a rep of the company, the phone number provided will only give you a message in regards to your credit card being charged and the message will basically tell you, too bad - You can either either email or do an online chat - I sent an email and told them that I wanted a refund in full - in their email reply to me they said, we have removed you from automatic billing, enjoy the next two years of our service - in 2009, your subscription will default then to the free subscription - First of all, I never opted to automatically renew my account - I feel that in a resonable amount of time that I should be able to inform them that this service is no longer desired and for them to refund my money in full - the only way that I knew that they billed me for this service was looking at my online credit card statement - I was not informed by email to my knowledge, that I would still be billed - thanks for your time and assistance...

Selling my information
Classmates sold my information. I signed up for a free trial with Classmates.com and cancelled my free trial within the 7 day period. I did provide my CC # for the free trial, believing it to be a legitimate company. Apparently they sold my CC# to a company called Privacy Matters, and I was charged $19.95. After finding this, I called Privacy Matters, they did take responsibility, and offered to give me my money back- however when I called Classmates.com to complain about it, they took absolutely no responsibility. The extremely rude Customer Service person I spoke with explained that you have to enter your email address twice before they will give this company your CC #. I explained that I gave them my CC# and trusted them with it, not this other company, and if they are going to advertise, then the customer should have to enter all their information on the SITE of this other company, so that they know they are signing up with this other company, and not make it part of your purchase with Classmates.com. She then rudely said again that we have to enter our email address twice, not once but twice before they will give them your information. I got very mad and told her I would not be using classmates.com again. She said she was sorry I felt that way. I am so upset with classmates.com, I’m not even mad at the company that took my money, because they at least are taking responsibility and refunding my money, but classmates.com for giving my information to other companies without taking any responsibility for violating customer's privacy.. Apparently privacy does not matter. What makes me even more upset is the Customer Service Rep's attitude like it's ok because you enter your email address twice, which I don't remember doing, however with a name like Privacy Matters, it sounds like a program they use to ensure your Privacy while you are giving your information online, as well as a lot of companies use your email address as a digital signature, so it's not far fetched to think that someone is entering their email address into a program called Privacy Matters as a digital signature of an authorized transaction. It amazes me at their ability to think it is ok.

renewal charges unauthorized
company automatically debited our account without warning and put us into overdraft. every penny counts these days and we have been so careful with our money. we are in the middle of filing for bankruptcy and would have liked a warning at least via e-mail that this were about to happen so as to prevent overdraft. this is a non-refundable fee, as i have found out from calling them and they refuse to credit us but will cancel automatic billing which i never signed up for in the beginning. I would advise no one to deal with this company! I will pass the word on!

Unsubscribed about 3 months ago. When I got my credit card bill this month, there was a charge for Classmates for 39.00. I want my card credited because I did not authorize this charge. Classmates is just a scam, you can't even talk to anyone about this. You call the number on the bill and they have a recording saying to go to Classmates.combilling, and you can't do anything but fill out a complaint. What the Heck???

unauthorized renewal
I did not authorize a subscription renewal. Your policy of having an automatic renewal is a scam. I've been unemployed since the end of April 2009, with nothing coming in not even unemployment. I have less than a seventy dollars in my checking account and I need every bit of it for FOOD. Not for a subscription that I seldom use. Please refund the entire $39.00 or receive the wrath of my bad publicity to all my fellow classmates, friends and family members.

Automatic deduction without my knowledge
I signed up with classmates last year, have been member for sometime, but decided to join the gold membership, well I guess they automatically deduct once your year service s up and I dont recall seeing that anywhere in their website, this is totally uncalled for, I have now got an overdraft charge to my account because of them deducting $39.00 when I joined it was only $19.95, SO WTF!!! I have told bank this was not authorized by me and to tell me what steps I need to take now to get my money back, I have read many complaints about this recently, and I feel something needs to be done about this, its wrong, they should of contacted me and asked if I wanted to join another year, not just go and take my money, thats what has PISSED Me off!!!
Classmates, .com watch out cuz you have pissed off a whole lot of people and we WILL FIGHT BACK!!!
