Sony Vio and Best Buy. I bought a Sony laptop Model VGN-FZ140E on August-31st 07 from Best Buy. It turned out to be a nightmare. I noticed the day I bought it, it crashed about 4 times the same day, and I was departing for the Philippines on the 2nd Of September so I had to take it with me on this trip. For if you face any problem then you need to make a STD call to Delhi for registering a complaint request with Philips Customer Care. I purchased a laptop computer eight days ago. In addition to the laptop, I was sold a disk that would restore the hard drive if it were to crash. This disk cost me $99.99 plus taxes. I was told that if I was not happy with the product that I could return it within fourteen days for a full refund. I admit that I did not understand the nature of what this disk was. A computer savvy pal of mine told me that it was outrageous to be charged this amount of money for a disk that I could have easily produced myself. I bought the above product on 1st June, 2007. It has developed a fault and I phoned Future Shop about the warranty. I was told I would have to send the printer to Canon at my expense. They could not even give me an address. This seems a cavalier way to treat customers. I will be careful to establish warranty procedures when I buy a product anywhere in future. In January, 2007, I purchased a new Dell Dimension E521 desktop computer via telephone. The machine was sent with Windows XP 2000 installed and, as agreed, I was sent Microsoft's Vista upgrade later. Upon installing the Vista program, all sound disappeared from my computer. After 10 months of wrangling, I have reinstalled Windows XP. Even though both products were new and should have been workable, both companies showed minimal interest in helping. However, both agreed to assist if I agreed to pay hefty hourly fees. In my opinion, the Epson P-3000 has a BIG DESIGN FLAW with regard to backing up this viewer in the field to another portable hard drive. Pre-purchase review of Epson ads and the device manual erroneously led us to believe this would be easily accomplished. It is hard to imagine that this viewer, obviously created with professional photographers in mind, would not be designed to easily connect to a back- up drive in the field.
