M&T mortgage consumer beware If you are thinking of a mortgage, you must defintely avoid M&T bank. They will put clauses in their documents making your life miserable and threaten you later on to do all kinds of things to you. In addition, even if you are late one day in ten years to send your payment (within of course the grace period) they will start calling you with automated sytems! Be absolutely careful of their mortgage clauses! Do not just depend on my opinion. Search the web for related complains. They are a fourth grade bank of unprofesionals to deal with. I had taken my nissan versa to nissan for airport road for my service. It was my first time in that service centre .The odometer was 24000km. They advertised a Wii remote using a picture of an official remote. I purchased this and after some time (albeit we had bad snow) it arrived, but was an unofficial remote. I complained to them - they were very apologetic and offered me a refund. I sent it back recorded delivery and have never been refunded. I have chased many times to no avail. Dealing with Fireside Bank (now Auto Finance) has been a horrible experience. The dealer where I purchased my auto pushed me into financing with them (probably gets a kickback or piece of the interest but he is now out of business), and since that time, has been the worst experience I have ever had with any particular financial institution. I ordered the free trial a month and a half ago for the shipping and handling cost. Now, on the 26 of feb, I looked at my bank statement and they took another $160.00 in charges for a purchase I never ordered. This happended with the pure berry also. I rented a car @ Vancouver airport and no agent was available to review the car for damages before I left with it. When I returned it on November 23, 2009, 3 agents went over it and one agent found a small acratch UNDER the rear bumper that no one else could even find. Later I received a letter charging me $175.20 for damages. I left 3 phone messages with the office that were not returned. The only communication was threatening collection letters. When I bought a set of what I thought were budget glasses from HSN, a product by Joy Mangano's Ingenious Designs, all I got was a lot of broken promises. HSN promise to resolve the problem by sending another pair but this has turned out to be a lie time and time again. David Yavitz- Did an initial consultation with me over the phone and took 3 calls while while speaking with me. It did not seem as though he listened to the details. He neglected to assess andresearch details of prior court orders and pursued actions that were detrimental to my case. He then blamed me for not being clear about the implications of the court order and yet this is what I hired him for. I thought he would pull the court documents and review them on my behalf before moving forward. In the end it was an expensive waste of money. It seems to me his hubris cost me about $15k.
