on star is not worth the money they charge. My wife and I have been lead to highways that are closed more than a few times. One guy told me that my on star did not work in the area I was in. False. I used it before in the same area, and it worked. I also hit the on star again, and received directions from a more competent person. I received a notice to extend my (Old) car's warranty (even though I sold my old car almost 7 months ago) through Consumer Protection Services. Although I already believe that extended warranties are a ripoff, I called their number to see if there was any way I could be removed from their mailing list or to let them know I no longer have this old car for which this extended warranty offer was subject to. I have a 2006 Chevy Uplander. The trim that runs down each side of the vehicle has (rusted/discolored) from one end to the other on both sides after only 2 years. The vehicle has 50, 000 miles due to the distance to my work. The dealership (Fox Chevrolet in Timonium Maryland) and GM refuse to fix it unless I pay $200.00 towards the cost because the warranty is up. I applied for a homeowners insurance policy with Amica and was denied coverage simply because I foster dogs for animal rescue organizations. The fostering I do has been minimal - three over the past five years. Two were small mixed breeds and one is a border collie. I work through organizations that are registered non-profits with the IRS and all dogs are temperment tested before coming into rescue. A guy with a big pick-up hit me sideways and totaled my 02 Solara. I loved that car. So I went to Castle in Baltimore and got an 08... same model. It's design stinks compared to my old Solara. I am 6 ft. tall and can't even see the front end of my new car as I drive. My old car was sleek and, at the time, a new design. My wife went to Napa to get a break light switch for our truck. She ask the guy from the store if he could check and make sure it was the right part. I worked as a vendor for Hertz Rental Car and was exposed to harrassing abuse for years. When I complained in a letter to the VP they supposedly fired the guy but would never re-instate my position as a vendor. I guess when you make a bad deed public, you are enemy No. 1. I was a very productive contractor who put up with a lot of verbal/degrading abuse at the hands of Hertz managers. These big corporations think they are not to be held accountable. The ULTIMA 6 speed motorcycle transmission for Harley Davidsons has a serious speedometer error (reads 40% too low) problem on many H-D models and Jireh admits this and has not/will not stock the speedometer adjuster to correct the problem. When contacted, Paula said, essentially, 'too bad, it is not our problem'. It cost me $125.00 more for an after market speedometer calibrator and another $75 to install it and about an hour to get it adjusted. A FTC complaint has been filed. I pumed my own gas, but the fill protection device was not working, causing me to over-flow my gas tank. Gas wa on my car and the concrete floor I asked the attendand for a bucket of water. I purchased a 2006 Hummer H3 from the seller in this complaint. I paid exactly $23, 250 ALL CASH for this vehicle. He actually drove the vehicle to New Jersey from Mass. to my residence.
