I found on November 13 that this hotel assigned a preauth on my credit card of $107.99. I called and told them(Gayle) that it was not authorized, I was not there and therefore they needed to put it back on my card before I filed a complaint. They refused to do so in the timely manner and proceeded to actually take cash from the person who was staying at the hotel. I went on-line looking for the best price for a hotel in downtown Madrid. Received a very official looking voucher in exchange for my credit card information. They were paid in May 2010 for a room I was to have on the night of October 11th. On reaching the hotel, the clerk could not find my reservation. Hi, In our vocation to Cappadocia which is one of the magnificent place on earth, we want to try hot-air balloon. Therefore, we search for a company to try it. I went to sells presentation. A man told me that I could use cabins until the resort was finished free of charge ( a lie!). I could use 15 other facilitie free of charge (a lie!). I paid $950 for a 38 passenger bus to to Sesame Place on Sat, July 17, 2010. The bus was to have working bathroom, a/c, a full tank of gas to get us there and DVD player/tvs. The bus was to leave from/return to my home 9am-9pm. The bus came 40min late. The ticket ended up to be a ticket with restrictions (travel dates coundn't be changed). I was on a tour from Oct 23 – Oct 28th 2010 and was one of 5 Americans on a bus of 60. Our tour guide spoke broken English, our bus driver spoke none. Our driver ran red lights, didn’t pick us up when or where he said he would, didn’t help passengers on or off the bus and never helped with luggage. They apparently reserved 2 nights in Dublin for us this summer when U2 was in town, no, it didn't happen and the town was sold out solid. My husband and I took our 2 daughters for a Saturday night to the Kalahari in Sandusky, Oh. My daughter (age 9) was having trouble getting to sleep so one thing we enjoy is walking and talking and seeing what goes on in the hotel when everyone is asleep. We are a cash low cost backpacker hostel who charges from USD 2 to 5 per night. We cannot get listed on Lonely Planet or their affiliate Hostleworld because they exclude us as we cannot afford credit cards because there would be nothing left for us. This is clearly restrictive trade practices being used by these parties who give the image of providing best value for travellers.
