I purchased a lifetime membership -- a "Gold" membership -- a couple of years ago, believing I'd never see another charge. I found the service basically useless after a few months, and have not used it for about a year. I would never have signed up had I been told that a) the "lifetime membership" was not a lifetime membership; b) the cost was $59 every two years; and c) renewal was automatic. I've entered in a contract with them to help to ease my wife's nerves after I caught a mouse in our pantry. They've put down a few ant traps and a mouse trap like six months ago and all their representative does is to "monitor" these once month for $37. AV Ford claims they were not responsible for engine seize 2 blks after leaving from an oil change. They were willing to give me $1000 on a trade or $200 from a salvage yard. I found a mechanic that would put in a used engine for $1000 and asked Apple Vally Ford to split the cost. They declined and I so asked for them to tow the car back to my mechanic. We were informed that the volume was set remotely from the home office, whever that is, and they had no local control. I was charged $745.00 to do a return theater I was charged $745.00 to have my return prepared. The most I have ever been charged by other preparers ( including a CPA ) was $125.00. the only difference this year being I had about 40 tools listed on a depreciation tax form.
