I know that this is a scam, any real contest does not ask the winner to send money to go towards the cost of handling and processing winnings. There must be something that can be done to stop these people as many people who are not well off and receiving such a letter would fall into the trap. April 04, 2008 I made arrangement to have the washer delivered at a specific location in the city. They charged me for 3 packages, and when they came, we installed the hair, and it all tangled, got matted and started to shed within hours. They wont reply to my emails. I just received their most recent scams, and I found this site before I did anything, luckily for me. This most recent attempt is a check from Custom Design, LLC, in Litchfield, CT. The bank is First National Bank of Litchfield. The amount of the check is still $4750.00, and the contact is the same, Brian Scott. The tax agent is now Ginger Perry. I was given a quote on building material (a lift of framing boards) and promised a delivery date, then the price was changed by .58 a board and the promised delivery would be delayed by two weeks which would cause all other trades to be delayed as well resulting in a great deal of expense. Following the instructions in the letter, I called the number given and It was explained to me how the mystery shopping was to be done, by a James at the call center at the number given. I have experience in mystery shopping and it was never done like this. When I got to my bank I asked the manager to check and to see if this was legitimate or fraudulant. The companies from the directory asked for an envelop, stamps and 1 or 2$ in exchange for information on their start-up fee, a number of unit to be done and approved before payment and shipping and handling cost at our expense.
