Kaplan College was a waste of money, I was enrolled there in Bakersfield ca, in the criminal justice program. I was misled into thinking the education I went there to get was accredited and professional. the program was supposed to have hands on training and instead was an education equivalent to high school. A trial offer I paid for with a gift card. I never accepted to enroll in the program contrary to what they say. I even returned the product that was sent to me unsolicited at a charge of $200. They lied and said that the product was not received. I set up lessons with Amadeus in July 2008 for my three kids. Teachers were supposed to call me the week before August 22 to set up lesson times. No teacher EVER called. Each time I called or e mailed Diane I was assured that a teacher would call me within a few days. I also had a poor experience at Ashworth University. I had placed numerous phone calls to the advisor regarding credit transfers with no return calls. I had also sent emails with no response. I graduated in 2003 with my Associates degree in Business Administration. The reps told me I could transfer all my credits to any university well I went to University of LaVerne and they only accepted 24 credits. I got a loan for almost $8, 000 just for an AA. They are complete liars. I remember the teachers would constantly be replaced. I wanted to quit in the middle of school but they told me I made an agreement with them. Anyway. As a parent of a child in Sagemont School, I am appalled at the pandering and special treatment 'some' students receive. This school puts money before everything. The teachers are not only mean, but also nasty to students who are not 'favored'. Complaints to the administration go unheeded. I took IT classes at Maric College, Vista, CA. A male teacher, "C.I"., came up behind me in class and humped the back of my chair with his groin, running his hand up the back of my neck. Yes High Tech Institute is full of incompetent, lying employees! I was approved for a loan, and they failed to send in the promissory note paperwork, and my loan was canceled. I re-applied with added information they needed, and the lovely brainless morons that worked in the Finance Dept., faxed the paperwork, but didn't take the time to verify that they received it at the other end. I've attended the Team Building workshop and to my surprise, the workshop was run by amateur trainers who don't have the necessary qualifications. I think this school is a scam. I enrolled 2 of my grandchildren last September and by May they were still floundering because they couldn't get the help they needed. I wrote emails to the school telling them I thought they were a scam and they said I could have a refund of the money I had paid. They asked how much and I told them 800.00 dollars because I had paid in full at the beginning. I paid by paypal but they were asking for name and address which i gave them. American Education Services, AES, has terrible customer service. After a customer service representative told me erroneous information about a modified graduate repayment system (MGRS) that it would A) not use forbearance time, and B) bring the account current and not make another payment due for 2 months I immediately received a bill due in two weeks (not two months). I am a graduate of Vatterott College Des Moines, Iowa. I went through the Mdical Office Assistant program and moved on to the Medical Assisting Program. My son's college stopped using Sallie Mae and went to usingCitiBank and Chase Bank ( JP Morgan Chase) for all their student and parent plus loans. I started my classes at Chubb in August 2007. I came into a class with one teacher, who was very friendly and helpful, but not very organized. They soon divided the class time between two teachers with two very different teaching techniques, clashing horribly, and they themselves did not get along well either. I was employed as a nurse at this facility for approximately 18 months, and endured intimidation by management, underpayment of benefits, and outright favoritism in many instances.
