We saw the add in a paper that is delivered to our home every month. The coupon for vent/air duct cleaning starts with saying $39.95. This includes one return, one main duct and vents. The technician came out and counted the vents and said that there needs to be additional work. He NEVER gave a total or did an estimate before starting the work. Needless to say we started at around $40 ...final was told at the END of service is $3100. I called and complained to the owner and he took of $500 (which I did appreciate). However, GET ESTIMATES before the work is done. Insist on it or you will be amazed at what a $39.95 coupon will add up too. read full review »

Respected sir/madam, I am working in a construction company (Majesty for genaral construction and transport) for six months in dibba/fujairah. But the owner is not providing actual salary, Labour card, Health card, Electricity etc. Also he is deducting 500 AED and more unnecessarily as visa money. The service of gas cylinder is too late. Ron Latham and Latham roofing is very, very crooked organization. They offered me a FREE repair estimate (which I have saved on voicemail) and then tried to charge me for coming out and looking at the repairs. The other two companies that I looked gave me free estimates and were very professional. Latham roofing pays for advertising in the ADVOCATE magazine in Dallas so beware. Do not ask this company to come out and give you an estimate because if you decide not to use them they will try to bill you for that FREE estimate and call you several times and leave several harrassing voicemails (Which I have saved). read full review »

This company is beyond shady they are extremely crooked. Unfortunately we opened the door when a salesperson claimed to be in the area. Do not give them your information, the harassment of phone calls are through the day and night. The sales pitch is extremely long but do not be fooled by the nice salesperson at first that offers you a great deal if u sign day of. On 2/16/09 our 4-year-old Kenmore front-loading washer (purchased at Sears, along with a warranty) started making loud banging noises & the fabric softener dispenser did not working. We scheduled a repair appointment with Sears for 2/18/09. The tech arrived on 2/18 & diagnosed a cracked drum and clogged dispenser valve--but had no parts with which to complete repairs. We have a Toshiba 60" less then 8 months old just quit playing.Made the call to Conns service and it was just terrible from then on.First it was a 5 week schedule to come out and still is.But we tried to talk to more humaine and technical people but got the same run around.It always wound up with tele marketing type people who would just laugh about our discontent. I've spent thousands of dollars with Conn's but I'v spent my last.Please listen to these disappointing stories and stay away from Conn's, it's terrible. read full review »

During the prposal stage, the contractor MARK BESNOS pointed out items that should be included (things we hadn't thought of) and the possibility of items that might appear during the remodel. He was correct, so there were very few surprises (i.e., extra costs) The construction crews were polite, very clean, took extra steps to protect the areas near the construction zones. We had fixed our broken water pipe through them. A mexican guy came with 2 of his young apprentices and his young apprentices worked while he watched and directed them. One of his apprentices had no experience at all. Soon after they were done, we noticed that our bathroom faucet and bath shower waters came at a very reduced flow. Such a deal at Jennifier? Not! I purchased a sectional and love seat 2 1/2 years ago. I paid for Scotch Gaurding. I did not get it. The couches are now stained and without much of an effort. Just touching these things stains them. They get you on delivery charges ($180.00) and the satifaction "garauntee", forget about it. The vendor is in NY and they not only kept me on hold forever, they were rude. When a guy finally came out to clean it, he said the warranty did not cover "oil stains", Excuse Me? It was a simple oversight but when I asked them to pay for the paint so I could repair/paint over the water damage, they simply read me their contract which stated, “if a leak is not reported immediately the contractor will only be responsible to stop a leak in our product”. We bought our front loading Kenmore He2Plus a year and a half ago and it started leaking badly during a recent wash. I called Sears to schedule a repair. It was an automated line and I was told that a service repairman would be out a few days between the hours of 8am and 5pm. The first week of February I receive a product with staples, no hardware, split wood, huge knots in what should have been cabinet quality wood, no lights, no crown molding, it was not what was ordered and was poor quality. He also tried to charge me extra to purchase a warranty on THEIR security system. Very disappointed with their lack of honesty and the deceptive sales practices. Called on Sunday February 7 2009 and asked if I could schedule an appointment to have this now repaired. Had a brand new furnace and AC unit installed - the units were not properly tested or adjusted. It is a two stage furnace and some of the wires for the thermostat were broke for the second stage to work properly, the installers never properly tested the unit to see if the second stage would even work. One word...fraud. Paid over $3, 000.00 to them in the first year and DID NOT receive advertising we paid for. Forget trying to work with customer service...they are useless. No one can give you a straight answer and I spent hours on the phone with them...mainly on hold of course. You are bond by a contract and although they are not providing the service you are paying for...they will not let you cancel...you simply get the run around ...and around and around. I have a refrigerator purchased in September, 2007, model # RS2530BSH. First last Feb, 2009 the control panel goes out and surprise that's not covered and since it was the electronics, OK I guess. However, less than a year later, it starts making this buzzing noise that gets louder and louder so I'm thinking compressor. Talk to Samsung, that would be covered as part of the "sealed system", however after a $75 diagnostic call, turns out it's the FAN which isn't covered and another $200+ repair. If you've had a cavity wall filling done by this company, you might want them to come back and double check they did the work. They did the work just over a year ago, but due to a problem they came back and check with a camera and found that there was very little filling. If anyone is looking for an alarm service for there home, please be aware of checkmate security systems. We found them through an ad (1st mistake), and signed a contract. When we had work done on our house, we had the service suspended. As per checkmate, we were told this would not be a problem.
