OK, we went to the Sears Outlet store in Franklin Mills, PA and bought a new range. It was a few hours from home, but we thought that Sears was a national store and that if there was a problem with it, we could return it locally. The price was OK, not great. They said that it was valued at about $2000. and we got it for $1267. In retrospect, the technician that looked at the oven said that it was last year's model and would not be valued at $2000.00. I have automatic payments set-up for my pier one account and this past month there was a problem on behalf of my bank, wamu. I called pier one's customer service dept. for the first time since signing up with them back in august and I encountered the most inefficient and unbending customer service I have ever experienced. Do not buy this dishwasher. We purchased a new one in 2006 and it has had many repairs (parts replacements) since then. The repairs have been free so far even after waranty expiration date however that's due to parts issues. We purchased a Natural mattress 1 1/2 yrs. ago from Sleepy's. Tried it for a couple weeks, and hated it. Too soft. This was one of their top mattresses at the time besides the Tempurpedic which we didn't like. We were told that we could exchange it but it had to be of greater value than the one we returned. I am currently an employee of this company. The Branch Manager Nico Grobler has verbally abused me and my colleagues for a period of time without reprise. I called Just Electric & Plumbing via a yellow pages coupon for a water heater repair. I told them the problem over the phone, Pilot light not staying on. The technician didn't even check the unit for a problem when he arrived. He looked at a chart then told me it would be 500.00 to fix. Hired D. George Refinishing to restore 3 furniture antiques. They brought back the furniture restored. However, I paid for custom made caps for the legs of an old antique desk which they kept the money and never provided. After several phone calls and months passing they never came through. My heater broke down. Called HMS. a technician came and said the blower was blown out. Needed approval from HMS to carry on. HMS denied the claim on the basis that I had not been maintaining the heating unit as required. I protested but with no avail. I believed that I had been ripped off by H.M.S. This company offered a free roof inspection. After the inspection the "roof inpector" stated that my roof was so badly damaged he was "afraid" to walk on it. We filed a claim with our insurance company and I check the company out. They have been kicked out of the BBB and are under investigation for working without proper municipal permits in El Paso County. Add another vistim of a dishonest building contractor Adam Charles of Home Rehabs & Remodeling. Adam Charles has abandoned a master bathroom remodel job started in Oct 2008. Adam's work on this project was always with excuses that kept him from working more that an hour or two any given day he showed up. Gary Sylvester, owner /operator od Mendham Design and Build out of Menham NJ is a dead beat. He has mulitple judgements against him, does shoddy work and does not pay subs. He hires guys, gets them into the job, then disappears. When its time to pay, he stalls you, then gets paid from his customers and flies off with the money. We purchased hardwood flooring from this company in June 07. We made our decision based on a sample at the store as well as a sales rep who talked about the great value of the floor as well as the industrial finish and wonderful warranty on the product as long as we used their installer. Steve Janks appears to think the only mistake he made on our remodel job was not pulling permits. This is simply amazing. He was found guilty of stringing lamp shade wire through walls, installing windows too small to meet fire egress codes, a stairway that was not to code and much more. I purchased a brand new set of Pasta attachments online for $99 during Thanksgiving. When I used it, one of the cutter (Fettucine) is defect and didn't work properly and noodles kept jammed. DO NOT BUY - I purchased this product from Sam's Club about 1 month ago and installed them exactly as instructed. The floors look like they been in the home for years. They scratch extremely easily and dent - yes, dent. I dropped a quarter on the floor and it left a significant dent. We have a dog, and he has scratched the floors so badly, even with manicured nails, we will have to replace before selling. I can understand and live with wear and tear, but this is unacceptable.
