I stupidly ordered the Wu-Yi Tea "trial, " then immediately canceled it. While Wu-Yi did refund the amount of $4.95 I paid for the trial, then earlier this week, I noticed that a charge of $19.95 came through my bank account for IW/LIVING LEAN. I called the number Thursday (866-396-5711) and asked for a refund and cancellation of the program. I was given a confirmation number and told that my refund will go through in 3-5 business days, but I am not sure that they will refund my money. My order of H2O Mop, steam cleaner, purchased in Canada from Thane.ca, arrived promptly. The operating manual, screws, spare washers were missing. I requested already 3 times thru email to forward the missing parts, however, I had no response. The Customer Dept phone is perhaps non existent since it is busy ring regardless when you call. I live on the island of Montreal. There are Bell cables attached to the side elevation of my house. Since some time now, I get frequent (weekly) visits from Bell, videotron and cable technicians climbing up on ladders positioned on my yard - and looking into my rooms on the first floor. I recently purchased a (new) external hard drive from CDC Computers for $100. 2 days later I opened the package to install it and the hard drive is smashed! In February I went to Toronto for a business trip. We needed a rental car and found a deal on line to get a vehicle from Alamo/National. What we thought was a good deal was not one at all. ABA Plumbing is company owned by a single man (Mazen Hashem). We called the plumber to fix the plugged toilet. He didn't get the problem fixed and left our place. He charged us extra for the work he didn't do. He simply told us to pour bleach in the toilet and that will solve the problem. That's totally a lie. We called him up after to address the issue but he kept hanging up the phone and swore to us. I checked with BBB and there were 3 complaints against the company last year. Beware of this company. In the beginning it seems wonderful: it employs immigrants and those with little or no Canadian work experience. The reason behind this is that the owner gets to pay the unsuspecting and uncomplaining poor patsy the lowest possible hourly wage. There have also been instances wherein the company would withhold salaries for months, and even when the manager had already deposited money to an employee's bank account, he would and could also take it back. Golds Gym bills additional months of dues prior to joining and after your resignation: I paid 1st and last months dues on joining the club prior to using a treadmill. I have been billed two months after my resignation as the company stated I must give 60 days notice of resignation. At the beginning of January I was driving my new 2007 Nissan Versa on the 401 outside of Milton. It was an extremely foggy day and pretty mild. I purchased 4 all season tires from Canadian Tire and paid to have them installed. After a week I noticed a bulge in one of the tires so I took it back to be replaced. They told me that it is no problem to replace the tire since it was obviously defective. Once they were done with replacing the tire I was told the cost is $32.00 for labour to replace the tire. I argued that I already paid for that...but all this was to no avail. Unbeliveable bad customer service...I took my car to the Canadian Tire in Bolton for a rattling sound, they charge be $83.00 to determine what the problem was. I was called later in the night to advise me of the cost to fix, and I agreed based on the cost that I was quoted. Next day I went to pick up my car the cost was $798.00. I purchased a gift certificate for 150CAD on 23rd March 2007. The certificate had an expiry date of March 23, 2008 on it. There were no shows that I liked were staged before the expiry date. I contacted them to extend it on 24th and my request was denied. I was literally thorwn out of their office. In Ontario, by law, if a business has received money for a gift certificate, they can not hide behind an expiry date and refuse to homour the certificate.
