I wish I could be as amused as everyone else here. I got a call from 'Gold Coast'. They were offering me $300 worth of Free Gas. But they quoted the last four digits of my wife's card #. I tried to get some information out of them. I said, 'let me talk to your supervisor.' I wound up with a guy who said his name was 'Carl', who was obviously Indian, and probably in India, although he said he was in New York. I'm calling my state BI at the first opportunity. In May 2008 I spoke with Gisela at Orbit Van Lines and received a quote of $4.00 a cubic foot to for a long-distance move. When I called June 2008 and spoke to Ray to solidify the moving date and leave a down payment, Ray took the liberty to change the original quote and charge $5.00 a cubic foot without telling me. We purchased a home entertainment center in December 07 from Best Buy, we used (by their recommendation, Geek Squad for the installation. Amount of $89.31 was deducted from my checking account before the 14 day cancellation. Called and was able to reach company and told them I had not received their product, and that it was going to be returned when ever it was delivered to the post office. The product was returned and I was told that a reversal of charge will be posted to my account within 14 business days after they received the product back. I was given a confirmation number. On 10/31/08 I received a letter indicating that an electronic signature was received authorizing a membership fee of $16.95 every month to my credti card. I do not recall authorizing anything of the source. I tried reaching them at the phone stated on the letter (1-800-475-1942) with no positive results. On the 11th day of a 14 day trial I cancelled both by e-mail and phone and got a confirmation cancellation number from the person I spoke with. Three days later the $59.90 charge shows up on my account anyway. I called and they said that this happens all the time because people do not read the terms and conditions. AT+T bills me for "slammed" services even though I have told them I have not, and will not sign up for any 3rd party services. The AT+T rep says they can't do anything about it because they are required by law to be complicit in any scams and all they can do is collect their fees for the services they provide to the slammers. We last spoke to PRT's accounting department on 8/29/2008 and was informed our refund check of $350 for the core charge return would be mailed out at the end of the month. We have never received a check from PRT and now when we attempt to call the company all we receive is a busy signal? We would not recommend that anyone do business with this company.
