I started at Devry spring semester 2008. After submitting my FAFSA, I was advised by a Devry Student Finance employee of how much i would be receiving, where the funds were coming from and how many classes I was able to take. I went through this advising process at the beginning of summer and fall as well. Prior to the start of fall semester, I met with an Financial Aid adviser and was told of how much i would be receiving. During this particular meeting, the adviser pointed out that I had been receiving a OIG grant which is based in Ohio. I... read full review »

The Manhattan School (PS 35) on West 52nd St
52nd st. worker February 23, 2009
The students at this school are extremely rowdy and rude. They are constantly loitering on the sidewalk and blocking pedestrian traffic. They are out there shouting, screaming, cursing, spitting and sometimes fighting all while the teachers and the security guards stand there and talk amongst themselves and do nothing. Just today, while in the chinese takeout place around the corner on 8th Ave., a bunch of student were in there talking very loudly, cursing and spitting. read full review »

Goverment Funded Grants
Peggy February 19, 2009
Last week, I ordered a free DVD for information on educational grants. I need to find ways to pay for school, and I thought, this would be helpful information. This was a side bar on the federal student loan application, so I assumed it was a ligimate outfit. Anyway, I gave authorization for a charge of $3.95. Today there is a charge of $74.68 to my account! I have tried to call the # listed ( 1 - 888- 662- 8762) and it is a continuous busy signal. Unreachable. Earlier this week, I received the DVD in the mail. I haven't broken the... read full review »

It seems strange for the school to send out a letter to everyone saying that the new cameras were installed at the middle school inside and out to hold the children and staff accountable. Are they having problems with the staff? Are they having problems with the children that the staff couldn't get off their ass and go stop? The money could have been much better spent on books and classroom supplies for the classroom budgets that keep getting cut. I wish the schools were run by poor people that knew how to budget money the right way and... read full review »

Peak Potentials Training

Before you shell out money for ANY courses, especially the advanced courses at Peak Potentials, you may want to confirm, in writing, that Peak Potentials will honor THEIR commitments. We've paid thousands of dollars for Peak Potential courses including the Enlightened Warrior and Wizard Training. The trainings were awesome, we made some great friends, and we thought we could trust Peak Potentials. My husband and I attended our courses and camps here in California, about an hour from our home, and were assured that the more advanced... read full review »

gmat preparation
concerned February 14, 2009
Veritasprep is apparently in the business of gmat prep but makes false claims about the qualifications of instructors. It claims that all of its instructors are 99th percentile but people who have taught for the company confirm that they had not scored in the 99th percentile. The company is allegedly run by a lawyer who should know better than to make deceptive claims. Veritas claims it supplies 14 tests but they are all sourced from companies that are selling the software themselves. Veritas marks up those tests obscenely and makes you pay an arm and a leg. Beware of tall claims by Veritasprep company. read full review »

The Salon Professional Academy
Kelly February 13, 2009
I have a complaint, it has been brought to our attention that the students don't feel they are getting the education they signed and paid for. The facility is like a high school with students running around, acting like middle school, surfing the internet instead of attending the clients. Wet towels on the floors, combs being dropped and picked right up and used on a client. I have observed this behaviour every time I go in. So, in my opinion I feel the school itself is not teaching the students how to behave and learn as you know there... read full review »

Keiser University - Sarasota
Tom Vallejo February 11, 2009
Keiser University does not clearly display their tuitions and fees on their site nor do they clarly explain what the fees and tuitions are during the orientation. Keiser does not operate under a credits per hour system, instead charge a bulk rate for a semester no matter how many classes you take. Example: Keiser runs 4 terms per semester. Full time students take 4 classes (term 1, 2, 3 & 4) per semester and 1/2 time takes 2 classes per semester (terms 1, 2 & 3.4) concentration classes are 4 credits and gen. ed. classes are 3 credit... read full review »

Nathan Hale February 10, 2009
The University of Phoenix crossed an ethical line. After endless computer trouble I knew I needed to drop before the 2 week deadline, they wouldn't let me drop. They went as far as to post threads in Arizona to meet the class requirements. Just enough to allow full billing. Then it was"sorry we can't help", How convenient. I refused to pay, they refuse to let go of the credit report they hold hostage.Anyone with a similar complaint should contact Leanne Chitwood http://arizonabbb.org/ not that she was any help, I don't think anyone realizes how often this crap happens. read full review »

I too have been scammed by the school... Financially, this 'Education Experience' has cost me double what a regular in class education would have, except I don't have a degree from them and I am still paying for it, 6 years later! Recently I have found out that they have garnished my tax return for a semester of school I did not attend. I have disputed numerous times and never have I even had a return email or call, except for a collector calling to collect a debt that I did not make! read full review »

Clemen Chiang stated that he had conducted in depth research into options trading and said that it had amounted to a PhD paper being recognized (PhD is actually from a Degree Mill known as Preston). His eventual method is nothing but a gamble on the earnings report of a company using options. Any seasoned trader will tell you that such a method is highly speculative and there can be no predictability.
