I have bought ups of apc on 29 feb, 2006. After 1year and 6 months it has effected my motherboard. When I purchased my camera in Dec 2006 I was told that if I took the extended warranty they would service it locally if anything happened within the year. When I went in to have service on same I was told it was over the year. You do not have to be a rocket scientist to know that it was within the year. I bought a Samsung 24QP (2 Tonne AC) sometime in June'05. AC Worked properly for 2 years. However since July '07, the following problems have surfaced : 1. GoVideo / Soyo Model R6530, what a piece of crap. Manu in 2003, quirky when bought new. Picky about DVD+R media brand, sometimes does not work or do anything. Applied a recent update and it croaked. Buyer Beware! Office Depot's Lightscribe DVD external drive sold under the Ativa label has no warranty after 14 days. I didn't notice until mine quit working after 3 months. I made the mistake of buying 3 Sony cameras over the past several years. Currently all three cameras no longer function regardless of their original purchase price / model. I bought the Zenith XBR616 DVD plus VCR player/recorder in November 2006. I promptly had to replace it under warranty a month later. In July 2007, the unit only played about half of the DVDs inserted into it. I called Zenith's customer relations and they told me that the parts would be under warranty, but that the labor expired after 90 days. I could mail it in for free, but it would cost me $69 in labor just to start looking at the unit. I decided against that since it only cost about $100 new. Ordered a cell phone from cellhut.com, and by the following day i had 12 e-mails advising that the e-mails did not have enough to identify me. I sent them a second e-mail address and was advised that that was insufficient. I then cancelled my order on july 24th was was the second day after i placed my order on july 23rd. The order was confirmed cancelled on july 24th, but i keep getting e-mails that my order is still opened and that i cannot cancel the transaction. Sent Kodak camera in to them on three separate occasions under factory warranty. Each time, camera was logged in and logged out as "repaired" on the same day of receipt. Each time the problem was not corrected. Each time their repair statement said "adjusted to factory specifications" which is roughly akin to pumping up a tire with a slow leak to 32 pounds and saying it is repaired.
