We purchased a Philips DVD Burner DVDR75 for $500.00. It NEVER worked properly. The picture transfer was not true to the original and the unit was so sensitive that it would not record if the picture was too snowy. It also crashed while watching DVDs. We were trying to convert personal videos to DVD. We always had problems during the entire time. We would only receive software upgrades and we always had to speak to someone in India. We also had color issues with a Philips TV. The companies service and products are unreliable and the worst to deal with. I will NEVER deal with them or buy another product from them EVER again. My latest complaint is that when I bought my REFURBISHED HP Pavillion a1477c at Costco I was promised a free upgrade to Microsoft Vista when it came available (I bought my unit 11/07/2006). I purchased a Kenmore Dishwasher barely over 1 year ago. We had our fist problem less than 5 months after owning the dishwasher. They told us that a thermostat burnt out and they replaced it. Now 1 month after the warranty ran out the thermostat went out again. Sears refused to help me without charging me a service charge and a charge for the part. I had a philips DVD player bought on 22/02/06. The Disk Eject switch stop working within 6 months. I took the DVD to local philips service centre which charged rs. 375/-. But the same problem occurred within 2 days. I don't mind Dell's insistence that one buy only their ink and only by delivery, but I've had several faulty cartridges, and if the faulty one is the last one in the house, one has to wait two days to get a new one. And, when I called to try to get tech help the technician took me through all the steps on their webpage that I had already tried multiple times. Only he took far longer as he studied and explained in a language that was probably not his first. I did get a free cartridge, but only after an hour and a half on the phone. Clearly not worth it. On 01/05/07 I ordered a 42 inch Hisense LCD HDTV from Tiger-Direct. This TV arrived via UPS on 01/11/07. The problem starts here. The TV had no display, just audio. After several calls to Hisense USA I was directed to contact Tiger Direct for return instructions. I bought a Maytag FAV6800AWW Top Loading Washer from Sears in Aug 2004 for $1050.. In about 6 months the washer was off balanced due to a bra wire. Since it was under warranty the repairmen fixed it with a service charge. In Jan 2007, one day, there was scratching noise and so we called the repairmen for $40.00. I had ordered a camera on Nov. 26th 2006 online using a credit card. I called a week later to determine why my order had not been processed. Unknown to me there is a required confirmation call on the customers part. Finally the order was processed over the phone. My camera arrives on Dec. 10th 2006. I bought a dishwasher at the Market Mall HBC on Jan.6th 2007. Delivery was to be Jan, 13th. I was called and that date was changed to Jan. 19th. Then the date was changed again to Jan.30th. This was confirmed by a phone call from them so I waited for the 4 hour delivery window and called only to find that the dishwasher was still in the warehouse. We purchased a front load washer and dryer in 1999 from Sears, I've tried on phone to get help with problem machine quality is is very poor. The tub spider (trans) completely oxidized and came apart. My son has one of these units and it works great with multiple equipment. I ordered one of the units from LCTVs.com but was not told that the manufacturer no longer allows the consumer to download instructions and codes which enable the remote control to operate.
