My mother purchased a laptop through radio rentals. One which she would make fortnightly repayments to pay for. The total over 36 months would be over $3500 for a general $600 computer to buy outright but my mother didnt have the money to buy it outright. I bought PaperPort 12 from Fry's Electronics on 03/04/2011 for $59.99 - I tried to instal the software on a computer running Windows XP and it is not installing. I had to reinstalled the older version 7. 0 in order to get back to my saved files and it is working fine. Owner Thien Truong then told me I had to purchase memory chip to replace bad one. I told him I just bought this computer from this company & I am not going to buy another memory chip when it was defective in the first place! Trend Micro kept charging me annual renewal fees three years after I cancelled my subscription to the service. I attempted to return a laptop I had received as a gift with no receipt to upgrade to a better processor (approx $100 more); the box was factory sealed (never opened) and I had waybill from HP to Walmart on box. This company use to be pretty good. They are based in the Phillipines so unlike tech support companies based in India they are easy to understand and go about thier business in a more congenial way and are far less rote than thier Indian counterparts. They are also much, much more expensive. The hold time is long somtimes more than 30 minutes before someone picks up.
