You will get what seems to be a low bid.
The costs keep trickling upward, though, through suggestions.
For us the failure to remember a much needed newel post (which he left out and is in code violation), and trim work.
So don't overlook a higher bid in favor of a better price.
Cheap doesn't mean good, and is especially true in this case.

Maytag Appliances
I purchased $4500 of Maytag appliances in September 2005, A French Door Refrigerator, a stainless steel tub dishwasher and a gas stove with convection oven a double door. In September of 2006 the refrigerator broke, was still under warranty and the repairman said that this refrigerator was a piece of junk and don't be surprised if it breaks down again. Poor service dept. response. On HOLD twice for more than 5 min each time. Grill is unusable but service dept advises part is not under warranty. Sears Airconditioner
Poor service received when I contacted Sears about my air conditioning unit, which was purchased from Sears, was not cooling. I was advised that I would have to be at home on 9 May from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM to await a technician. After my wife taking off from work and waiting until 3:00 PM the technician arrived. After checking the unit I was advised that the compressor fan motor was bad and had to be replaced. The technician had one on his truck and replaced it and billed me $348. Centerpoint Energy Houston TX
Centerpoint is incapable of maintaining it's equipment. Frequently, as often as three times a month, a line fuse blows in my neighborhood with a boom and the power is out again. Sometimes it is followed with a louder boom and the transformer is gone again. With the temperatures in the 90's and high humidity, no air conditioning represents a health risk. You cannot contact a live person at this company unless there is a fire or a power line down - the only option is voice mail with limited choices. I went to rfw in Greenville off frontage rd may 21st and I had found a pool that I liked and put 500.00 down on it. I called back and asked the store manager if I could have until the 11th of June because my husband just got back to work and he said well, it is gonna be the end of the month and we can't hold it, however we can see you another one for over 3, 000.00.i said uh no! I can't afford that. I am not rich and my kids have been wanting a pool for a time. He said well we can mail you a check back for your 500.00...I don't know what to do. I just recently bought a dining set and then an office set. The salesman was incredible! He had a tape measure and helped me and my husband decide on the perfect pieces. Most importantly, he listened to our needs and was patient. We were in the store for almost 3 hours picking the perfect items. The delivery date was set for a Saturday so that we would be available.

I recently stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village, CA. It was my fist time at one of their properties and will without question be my last! I had my 3/4 ton truck and an enclosed trailer. When I got there, I could not see anywhere to park the rig, so I parked across the street. I walked up and asked the Valet where I could park and he had no clue. We asked two more valets and none had any idea. I asked both doormen who were as clueless as the valets. The furniture that I got from Rotman's ***! I had only used it twice and looks 10 yrs old. One of their guys came to check the leather sofa and told me that unfortunately they do not use great materials in the inside and is nothing they can do .and said to go to another store to purchase the cushions. instead of Rotman’s be able to exchange it...I’m so disappointed will be the first and last time I purchase my furniture there.

Maytag / 2006 French Door Bottom Freezer
My beef is with Maytag the manufacture. We bought a new Maytag Refrigerator Stainless French Door w/ bottom freezer in Aug 2006. I believe we paid $2, 200-$2, 300 and within 6 months the ice maker also quit working. Seems to be a common theme with Maytag. It was under warranty and the repair guy didn't even ask any questions...he simply replaced it. I asked if he had replaced many of these icemakers recently... a lot he told me. Ace Fencing
Ace Fencing installed my fence as requested and on 05/15/08 I was cited by the City of Las Vegas Code Enforcement because there was no permit issued for said fence. I called C.J. Snell, the contractor in charge of the installation about the problem. He stated that he would charge me $150.00 plus the permit fee to get the permit he should have gotten before installation began. This moving company was supposed to be at my house at 12:00 noon and didn't show up until 6:00pm. They showed up witha a small Budget truck and not a full size truck you'd expect a moving company to have. They were annoyed because I didn't have everything packed even though that's supposed to be part of their job. I was told the price of my move was going to cost me $1, 400. Char-Broil Grills
On May 9, 2008, I ordered a part for my 3 burner grill. When completing the order I was given the choice of having the part shipped via FedEx Ground, which I chose. On May 15, I went back to the website to find out where the part was and found it had been shipped on the 9th, but by US Postal Service, not the FedEx Ground I had been charged for, and was currently in Ohio, according to the trace from USPS. I have had a few less costly and one very costly experiences with the brick I bought two very expensive recliners, about 1, 000.00each after 3 months the mechanisms where shot. I am not a big person and since they where only used by my husband and myself they did NOT take any rough use. Tankless Water Heaters
We are building a house in CA. Heard good things about thankless water heaters. Went online, found company in AZ. Ordered two units. They arrived with no invoices. When contacted, the owner stated if he provided invoices he'd have to charge more. Anyway, the units weren't what we expected, returned both. Four Seasons Sunrooms
I bought a room addition from Four Seasons Sunrooms/Ambiance additions in May 2004.
Room was completed July 2005 with a 10 year warranty.
Right from the very beginning the room was never properly sealed, every time it rained water came through the roof in multiple areas. The first time the roof leaked there was major damage to a chest of drawers, which Four Seasons reimbursed me for.

Cypress Creek Pools is terrible. They started my pool in February. After two months they worked on my pool a total of five days. They left me with a g unite shell and a mess in my backyard. I filed a complaint with the BBB and was threatened with a liable lawsuit by the owner for doing so. I know of three other people in the same situation, some have not had their pool finished in over six months. After the owner threatened me if I did not continue to pay him I had to hire a lawyer. Harger Enterprises
On 30 April 2007 we hired Harger Enterprises, LLC., to maintain our lawn and garden located in South Ogden, Utah for a fee of $45 per week. The contract called for sod fertilization four times per year, weekly mowing, edging, weeding of the sod and flowerbeds, and maintenance of the trees as needed. Harger neglected our yard terribly!

Cymax Stores
We recently ordered a bed and a dresser from one of Cymax's MANY sites. The dresser we received was damaged. We showed the damage to the delivery person but he still checked that the item was delivered in good condition. Because the damage was not noted on the delivery form, Cymax would not get a replacement for us. We called Cymax immediately after delivery to inform them of the damage and took pictures which clearly showed the item still mostly in the original shipping packaging. Selected carpet and had them come to measure. They tried to increase the price after we discovered they never ordered the carpet. Carlton Pools
If I was in the hospital dying with cancer and Carlton said they had the cure I would pass on having them implement the remedy. This outfit can't do anything right and the owner doesn't even care.
Installing a pool is a multi step process; and they screwed up ever step
I suspect the Carlton motto is "Why do it right the first time with professionals when you can employ morons and have them do things that only escapees from a nut house would do.

Haverty's - Sealy Posturpedic Bed
We bought a Sealy Posturpedic king size bed set from Haverty's and were told that there is a warranty. Before a year was up, the bed had a 1 inch sag. Haverty's sent out people to look at it. They said they couldn't warranty the bed until the sag was an inch and a half and that 1 1/2 inches is the industry standard for replacement. We have had to go to the chiropractor to solve our back aches from this bed yet we can't get any replacement from the company. He owes us $1200.00 my wife and I were foolish enough to get screwed over once and then make a deal for him to have a rocking chair made for our first born child that he promised would be there at least a month before she was born. I am finally posting a complaint forewarning all about Sears PartsDirect after many experiences of similar poor performance in getting parts for Sears Kenmore appliances. I have been harassed by irregulaty in easymax billing. A few month ago they did mistake in billing and they did correct their mistake after repeated calling from my side. last month they sent me the correct bill and this month they have added an bill for delivery which they said was not added in my last bill.

Carrier Puron Heat Pump
After two years and six months my Carrier Infinity Puron system begins to dump water all over my basement floor causing damage to carpet, walls, furniture. I called my certified dealer/installer inform them of the water problem and that the unit is running rough and is on more frequently than usual. This company is charging us a $600 cancellation fee for a contract that we did not agree to. There are two places to sign on the contract one that states that we understand the terms, and another place to agree to the proposal (thus turning it into a contract). We signed to show that we understood the terms of the proposal, but we did not sign in the place that makes the proposal an actual contract. 9/07 - Returned to store for warranty repair. Mailed forms given to me by store.
After several months and resending forms, phone calls to store, etc, they refuse to respond to warranty claim.
2/08 - I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau. Per the BBB, the store was non responsive and never acknowledged or answered.

I was woken at 1 o'clock this morning by someone calling from bit.tv - calling from 08701666667. Since then I have had 5 other calls. I have repeatedly said that I have not ordered anything from bid.tv and yet the calls still keep coming. I believe that bid.tv is part of Virgin Media. I have never bought anything from shopping channels and never will, so can't understand why I am getting these calls.
