I didn't find out until a month later that my soon to be ex-husband was able to change my Michcon gas to Universal despite not being on the account. I wasn't aware of this until I received a letter in the mail from Universal congratulating me on my swich over the them. We bought a Sears Kenmore Oven about five years ago. Today, I turned the oven on to preheat so I could bake cookies. After baking the cookies at 370 F, I turned off the oven. After few minutes, I opened the oven to remove the cookies and realized that the top heating element was red hot with the oven very hot and the cookies burned out. The only way to get the coil to stop heating was to unplug the oven from the outlet. This has happened a couple of times. When I contacted Sears I got no response since I did not have warranty. I purchased rust color towels in linen'n'things. I washed them with other towels in warm water. My beige Avanti towels came out of the wash with orange blotches all over them. I called the store manager in the Holmdel store. She replied that I should have washed them in cold water. The washing instructions say to wash in warm water. We ordered furniture (headboard and bed) from this store in November 25, 2007 and they promised to deliver it to us in 6-8 weeks. Up to this date (02/10/08), they have not kept their promise. The salesman also said that our credit card will not be charged until after they delivered the furniture but our recent credit card statement showed the charges for this purchase.
