When we built our home in the Fall of 2004, we purchased an entire house full of new appliances from our local Maytag Direct. They remodeled my kitchen 2 years ago, and the work was shoddy, sloppy and they refused to acknowledge their errors. I had 7 kitchen cabinet glass doors installed, and because of an error they made in placing the hinges, the doors were attached in a manner that was jury-rigged and much less sturdy than they were originally. We had two sump pumps die on us in February. We went to the Sears store with them, they had a lifetime warranty, the store said we had to take them to the repair center. We took them to the repair center and they said they do not touch sump pumps they have to be replaced. We then called Sears and they said they had to send out a tech to check them. On November, 4, 2006, I purchased 14 tubes of Mapi Keracaulk from Fontile. The quantity was determined by my contractor, who grossly over-estimated the amount needed. The Fontile employee who sold me the caulk said I could return any unused stock for a refund. Fontile refuses to issue a refund on the 9 unused tubes of caulk. Never ever think of buying a Kent RO System. The company has a totally non existent after sales service support. Andersen Windows makes some fine products, but electric-powered, venting roof windows is not one of them. I bought four such windows in 1994. The gears of the roto-operators (both the pre- and post-1998) become stripped/dislocated within 5-10 years. In addition, the electric power operators don’t fit well onto the roto-operators and need adjusting every year or two.
