In April 2008 we purchased an upgraded timeshare in Mexico. Part of the transaction included trading in as equity a timeshare based in Carlsbad, CA. We were put in touch with Holiday Transfer Services who was to make the transfer of ownership. This company sells parts online for laptop computers, and also repairs laptops. I tried to place an order by phone using a bank ATM checking account card. The person taking the order said the bank declined the payment because the billing address did not match the billing address for the account, or some such. But it turned out the bank did process the transaction; the transaction does show up on my checking account. My contract was due to expire in July of 2009 so I called to cancel and was informed my contract was extended until June 2010 and I would have to pay an additional $400. They indicated that I would have to notify them in writing 30 days prior to the contract ending or they would automatically renew.
