DVD World Online aka DVD Destination
September 1, 2006
I made a DVD purchase (www.dvdworldonline.com). Much run around. Never received the product or the promised refund. I filed a complaint with NY BBB. They couldn't get this company to respond either. The purchase was for only $24 so the company knows they can thumb their nose. No one is likely to pursue legal action for that amount. Unfortunately, given Internet purchasing, most buyers won't find out they've been had until it's too late. Completely avoid this company. read full review »

Movemeant Sales, Inc.
September 1, 2006
I bought a magazine subscription through this company. The magazine was never delivered. When I called the company, they told me that I could get my money back if I sent in a copy of the cancelled check and my receipt which I did. The magazine I had ordered apparently had gone out of business. To this date, I have not received my refund. I call them every week and they say the same thing over and over such as: "Your refund will be mailed this week, so you should get it next week". Every single time, they have told me a falsehood... read full review »

Cache Creek Casino Resort
September 1, 2006
On June 13, 2006 at around 8 PM, I hit the 5 cents progressive jackpot slot machine accumulated over 233 thousand credits and then I cash-out right away. I went straight to my car, get the cell phone and just about to call my wife to share the excitement that I won a jackpot. I was surprised when I saw the printed ticket amount of $21.75 only. I realized I was short change. So, I rushed back inside the casino and immediately call one of the slot machine attendants and we went directly towards the machine where I cash-out the ticket. Sure... read full review »

Netflix
September 1, 2006
I joined netflix on a 2 week "free" trial period. Before the two weeks were up i returned all dvd's and cancelled my membership online (only because there was no phone number on the site to talk to a person to confirm that i would not be charged) I received confirmation that my membership was cancelled. I felt ok thinking there would be no charge to my credit card. After cancelling I had an emergancy for which I almost maxed my credit card out but i was still under my limit, I tell you this only to lead into the fact that on the... read full review »

My husband was scammed by these people with the promise of a gold watch. He actually agreed on the phone to subscribe to ESPN Magazine. When they sent his “claim form” for the watch, they had thrown in 4 additional magazines. We called and tried to cancel, but we were told that “this is not a cancelable service” and they played a tape of my husband’s conversation with them. HGTV
August 30, 2006
HGTV has a bogus backyard giveaway contest. The catch, you have to answer a servey for numerous products, companies, then subscribe to some of them BEFORE you can proceed with the "contest" entry. One page asks for the last 4 digits of your social security number. This is not a contest. Just another cheap shot aiming to make more money from advertising. read full review »

Proscan TV
August 30, 2006
The remote sensor of our 5-year-old 32-inch Proscan TV broke TWICE within a year. At the second time when the same part went bad (May 2006), I didn't want to fix it without knowing what's causing the problem; rahter, I wanted to buy a new more-dependable TV. Thomson, which is the manufacturer of ProScan/RCA TVs, could not answer my question, but their representative told me to get it fixed by the authorized repair company in town (we hired them.), Tyler's TV, again, then get the money ($89.95) back from Thomson. Recently, I received an ad from these folks (www.SatelliteSales.com) offering "Free 4-room system installed....$19.99 for over 80 channels...Free Dual-DVR upgrade... Free Showtime (for 3 months)..." I called, but was told that my credit "was not approved" and I must pay a large deposit for the four free rooms. Then they offered to check someone else's credit - anyone else's credit. Has anyone notified you about Publisher Business Services? Their address is 701 N. Green Valley Parkway Suite 200 Henderson NV 89074. They are pushing magazines. I said yes to this over the phone but when it came in the mail, there were 6 magazine subscriptions. I would be paying $20.00 a month for 29 months. I did not sign anything and I e-mailed to them to cancel the subscription plan. You might think you are getting a good deal but the cost is expensive. Mary Anne. read full review »

Last week my husband and I ate dinner and had a mixed drink at Chili's, a newly opened restaurant in our area. Sky sports news
August 5, 2006
I hope this is the right complaints board, but I was disgusted to see sky sports news showing archive footage of some nobody from 2001 speaking about Erikson when i could easily have said in one sentence, the man is a joke and has ruined England's best chance of world cup glory especially with the other results. Get some better footage and just interview a random guy than that garbage. England could have gone the distance if it was down to a true english man, not a foreign joke of a manager who had no passion for the situation. I feel sick to my very core because of your coverage and englands lack of ambition to atempt to win the World cup. read full review »

Poor customer service! June 16, 2011
I have had directv for 6 years now in my RV. Up until last year I have had no trouble changing my location at least twice during the year in order to pick-up the local channels. Now they tell me that I cannot pick-up the local channels & they are blacked-out. I can only order the LA & NY local channels for an extra fee of $15.00 per month. Their intent is to increase their revenue & screw the customer service. I do not consider the LA & NY channels as local channels either. I would never recommend directv to anyone as this is just another example of poor customer service in a long list of poor customer service. read full review »

Lawyers in our firm have been approached by a number of purportedly "leading industry magazines" published in the UK, but they do not actually exist. So, if we don't pay we don't get a mention...how reputable is that? Any tiny unknown firm can be named a "Best Firm" as long as they pay up. This Company is offering movies sales cheap, and they are charging your debit card or credit card more than once. I was recentlly checking my bank statement online and found out that they have charged my account twice for the same movie. I could have purchased the movie from a local store right here in my town, but the price I thought was unbeatable. Do not purchase anything from this company, it is a rip off. HotMovieSales.
