We purchased a new GE Profile refrigerator in July 2006 based on Consumer Reports recommendation. This units has experienced chronic repititive failures. Initially we were told that an "ice ball kit" had to be installed. Then the motherboard failed. Then another 6 motherboards. Then a thermister. I called Mr. Rooter, 230 Bank Street, Midland Park, NJ 07432 to clear four underground gutter drains and one drain in the driveway. The quote was $732.00 for the first tow hours and approximatly $350.oo for each additional hours. Thinking this was a reasonable price for clearing five drains, I agreed. If you a buy a new home make sure you double check all the details. like the carpet paddding is what you bouht and paid for make them show you. They may say it is so we bought new and afteer doing this they told us they made a mistake and did replace but we had already bought new. The Ge appliances are not worth the price buy your own. I had went to menards and bought paint on 10/14/10 grand distinction which I got the rebate number 3364. When I got home I was not happy at all with the color and took it back the mgr exchanged for the right color and said the rebate would still apply. I went the on 10/16/10 and bought another gallon of the same paint. I had to call the health inspector he had came in and told us that it need to be done asap. Nothing was done. re: kenmore elite gas range and oven Despite what I've read about the toxic smell dissipating in time, my oven/broiler gives off a sickly burning plastic smell which fills the house. I moved into a brand new home about 2 months ago. Now that the weather has changed and it is much cooler/colder outside, I am experiencing a huge problem with condensation. The amount of water that it is looks more like the windows are leaking. It is just that extreme. I was told today by the warranty manager for the company that built the home that it will get better over time. How long is that? I've read over the complaints above and must say we've had complete opposite of anything stated. We spoke to a nice gal on the 800 line both days were extremely satisfied with their service. We now have a nice metal barn building that houses our horses and other livestock. The installation was on time and we really are happy with the entire process, recommending to our friends and family. We purchase several Brights Effects CF lights from LOWES less than 2 years ago when we moved fron LA to TX. We used them in our kitchen (6) the advertised warranty is between 7 to 10 years and they only lasted 20 months. The average usage was 4 hours a day. We understand things go bad and nothing lasts forever BUT, a product that says they last 7-10yrs and only lasted less than 2 years. I complained to the Lady that said she was the owner and she just brushed me off and said that there was no way they came from her store. I purchased a sofa and love seat from Bob's. I live quietly alone. Within one year all the stitching in the cushions started coming apart. I called about the issue. I was told I did not purchase the extended warranty and my original warranty ended a month earlier. They said they would not help me out. They said I could call customer service and wait at least a half hour on hold to get through but that they would not do anything for me anyway and hung the phone up on me.
