In 2003 we purchased a used 2001 Lexus RX300 and the extended warranty for $1500 from George Harte Infiniti in West Haven Connecticut. The warranty we purchased was for a further 60,000 miles (giving us 100,000 miles) or 48 months which ever comes first. I was contacted (via the school I attend that sells my information to these companies) by this company who sells magazines and strong-armed into purchasing a magazine subscription. I was assured I would not be billed, however, I was immediately billed. There is nothing the credit card company can do for me as it is a ‘pending’ transaction. I purchased an MP3 player for my son for Christmas 2006. It was a model H100. Before New Years Day it had froze up and we couldn't get it to work. I called their tech support at the number listed on the instruction manual in the box, which incidentally had been changed. Tom Adams Builders was hired to do some backfill work around our home. We advanced him the payment ($500), so that he could afford to hire a crane to lift his bobcat out of a ditch that an employee had driven into. He agreed to return with his bobcat and do the backfill work. He never return, avoided our calls, made up excuses when we did get in touch with him and when finally confronted, told us that he would not be doing the work. He is keeping the money. My son has one of these units and it works great with multiple equipment. I ordered one of the units from LCTVs.com but was not told that the manufacturer no longer allows the consumer to download instructions and codes which enable the remote control to operate. I was scheduled for equipment installation on feb 14, 2007. Installation was to be between 8 am and 12 pm. I received an automated call on feb 12 verifying the appointment. At about 12:30 pm on the 14th i called direct tv to ask why the installer had not shown. Had booked 4 nights at the Essex House through Hotels.com (Expedia). My stay there was very unsatisfactory.
