I was contacted by 21st Century Legal Services promising me to negotiate with my bank on lowering my monthly payments based on the new government law. They asked me to stop paying my mortgage payments for three months and instead to pay them, total $2200. My husband and I wanted to close his IRA with Ameriprise and transfer part of the money to an IRA at our bank and the rest to an IRA at another brokerage. I bought a $10 IDT phone card which was bundled with ATS phone. Today, when I try to activate the card, I am being told that the card expired. However, when I questioned as how it could expire without getting activated, they had no explanation and was put on indefinite hold leading ultimately to call termination. I see that they have a fine print on the card that says that the card will expire from 60 days of first use. What I dont get is, how could the card expire even prior to activation? I've become a fan of that Clark Howard money guy on CNN. I remember him talking about how some swindlers use these tactics to where once they gain access to your credit card info, they charge it once for around 1- or -2 dollars and wait for it to go through undisputed-hey who's gonna notice a dollar?. My car was diagnosed with a bad slave cylinder for the clutch. After Agreeing to the quote I was told it would be ready later in the afternoon. There are many hidden fees. The room rate is higher than what you can get from the hotel. They charge extra fees but they don't show all the charges. They make it impossible to change date or cancel. They charge $50 PER PERSON if you want to cancel it within 14 days. This is unbelievable. The customer service does not help at all. I feel they intentionally set up many tricks. Sadly, we purchased a Maytag refrigerator in December 2006. We are currently listening to the drumbeat of the FOURTH damper that has been installed in this unit. I am writing because the Woonsocket store & get Distilled Water --and they never have any water on hand. The manager of the store should order the water but this is totally ridiculous as we have to go to Providence Wal*Mart near the VA Hospital to get some.
