We purchased a self propelled Troy Bilt lawnmower. After one year the wheels and gears had to be replaced. They were very cheap plastic. After the second year the self propelled feature no longer worked. When we took it in for service we were told the transmission had to be replaced, which we were told cost in excess of $200. At this point we cut our losses and junked it. Our recommendation is to stay away from Troy Bilt. They are made with very cheap plastic materials that only last until the warranty expires. I have found t the internet other people scammed by this company and the emails are the same. The tactic is to let the customer wait for the merchandise with excuses like this one:"The item has been slightly delayed with Royal Mail- but will turn up with you in the next couple of days at the latest. Webroot Antivirus with Antispyware virus program is a 45 dollar rip off. After numerous tries to download thier update, because the version I paid for won't protect me on malware, I am fed up. It takes two hours to supposedly download the new update with the same results NOTHING. Last summer I changed via ("phones 4U") my mobile phone provider from vodafone to 02. I was getting a deal - 600 minuntes & 500 text msg for £35 per month. This fraudulent company has been calling me trying to get me to sign an order confirmation for toner refill at the cost of $619.00. They start off by saying how the price on toner went up, but since I was never notified they will give me the toner at the original price. Then they fax an order confirmation to be signed. Ordered a battery via the internet on the 27/1/2009, after a week sent an email to them asking where was it. Receieved a reply saying awaiting deliveries from China W/c 2 March 2009. My Dell laptop was only 5 months old. The keyboard was malfunctioning, I was getting frequent blue screens which lead to hours and hours of system restores and my DVD drive stopped recognizing disks. I returned it to Best Buy since this is where I bought it. Geek Squad told me they could ship it to Dell where I would be without my work laptop for 7-8 weeks or I could give them $130 and they would return it to me in 4-6 days repaired. I received an email to call in to confirm my online order made the previous day. When I called, the rep wanted me to pay $150 for starter kit accessories listed, which were listed as "INCLUDED ACCESSORIES" on their website. I double-checked online and call them back reminding them that it is false advertisement. They removed the clause from the web and immediately canceled my order via email. I have done extensive search on the company since and discovered they formerly operate under two other names (both shut down).
