I had Pella Designer Series casement windows with Slimshades installed in July 2004. One and a half years later, the shades on most windows have indented the wood as they contact the sash (putting the shade down). I was disappointed with their estimate as their ads would lead you to believe they will save you big bucks. Apparently their gig is to cater to someone who wants immediate installation and no interest for a year. The salesman measure our house at 173 yards and single figure estimate of $6000, no details. I called to place my order for stair parts, because I needed advice. Their "specialist" assisted me and ordered handrails that were too small for the balusters. I was told by customer service that "since I had confirmed the order, there was nothing they could do". Their website lists the dimensions of the handrails as 2-1/4"X2-3/8". You buy a bed, you have no payments no interest for 1 year, but if you don't read the fine print and don't pay it off in full by your promotional due date - by the way they send you a bill after your due date has passed, you have to pay all of the interest you have incurred for an entire year! Do not use Sears Home Central for any home repair work. I contracted with them for an air conditioner in June. The unit was installed after the promised time on the contract which is not actually the complaint. They promised to obtain the necessary permits which was never done. Tom Adams Builders was hired to do some backfill work around our home. We advanced him the payment ($500), so that he could afford to hire a crane to lift his bobcat out of a ditch that an employee had driven into. He agreed to return with his bobcat and do the backfill work. Consumers Energy decides to estimate meters whenever they don't feel like coming out to your house and giving you an actual reading. I filled out the return order form and waited for this RMA number that is required as well as the address in order to return the part. They never gave it to me. I paid $35.00 for Home Depot to come out and measure my porch door to install a fiberglass door. After taking my money and measuring the opening I am told that they do not have a fiberglass door that fits but they can put up a $1700.00 wood door. I told them I do not want a wood door and was not able to afford a $1700 door. Also the wood door is not even finished. I have to paint or varnish it. Ironically Indane Gas has a toll free number, but their Udaipur distributor "Aravali Gas Service" has different opinion about phone service. During working hours you never reach them on phone. I purchased a Rudd Gas Hot Water heater on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 that had a 6 year warranty. It was installed by a plumber but now is leaking, we went back to the company that it was bought from which is Coburn Supply Co. In New Ibeira La. , they agreed to give us another one but refused to pay the price for the plumber to reinstall. I think that this is unfair to the customer and the plumber.
