We had two sump pumps die on us in February. We went to the Sears store with them, they had a lifetime warranty, the store said we had to take them to the repair center. We took them to the repair center and they said they do not touch sump pumps they have to be replaced. We then called Sears and they said they had to send out a tech to check them. I purchased a Viking double oven and my wife went to bake a cake after we had it for 6 months, she does not bake much. The cake burned after cooking only 10 minutes, the thermostat was 100 degrees off. I have had problems with every item I purchased. On November, 4, 2006, I purchased 14 tubes of Mapi Keracaulk from Fontile. The quantity was determined by my contractor, who grossly over-estimated the amount needed. The Fontile employee who sold me the caulk said I could return any unused stock for a refund. Fontile refuses to issue a refund on the 9 unused tubes of caulk. Never ever think of buying a Kent RO System. The company has a totally non existent after sales service support. I bought two, YES TWO, Kent RO Systems in May 2005 on the promise of two years, i.e. till May 2007, hassle free maintenance free with all parts covered. I bought some non-drip dulux gloss paint a few months ago. When I opened the tin it was clearly liquid gloss. I couldn't find the receipt to return it, so used it but it all dripped and ran. This summer had Collegiate painters headed by Jeff St. Hillaire paint the inside of our house for $700.00. This was the kitchen, living room, tiny bathroom and hall. Andersen Windows makes some fine products, but electric-powered, venting roof windows is not one of them. I bought four such windows in 1994. The gears of the roto-operators (both the pre- and post-1998) become stripped/dislocated within 5-10 years. In addition, the electric power operators don’t fit well onto the roto-operators and need adjusting every year or two. This company will tie you in to a five year contract make all types of offer and once you sign the paper work there is no out of this contract they will not even charge you an early termination fee, they told me they will just ruin my credit and report me to the credit bureau. So if you loose your job or if you find out that your child is ill and he requires expensive meds you can not break this contract.
