We were unable to fly to Maui in March of this year. So we called Hawaiian Airline. They said no problem we will issue you a credit. When I said that the credit card number had changed, she said, "no problem, it just had gone through". When I checked the credit card the next month there was no credit. Upon calling HA, they indicated that this was a internal credit and we had to use it within 12 months, subject to possible additional fees. My experience regarding a recent (8/1/10-) Trafalgar tour to France-Spain was terrible. We actually didn't get to see/visit 4 of the sites promised in the brochure, and the so-called 3&4 star hotels and "quality" meals were more like 2 & 3 -if that (compared to the wonderful 3 & 4 star hotels, meals, and trip to Italy with Brendan, three years earlier). I purchased a Wyndham Discovery Vacation Timeshare in March of 2008 and as an incentive was given a 3 day 2 night Get Up and Go Vacation that touted over 18 destinations to choose from. There was a six month waiting period from the purchase of my timeshare, which made my Get Up & Go available after Sept 2008, but for one year, thru Sept 2009. I cancelled my contract in 12 hours and i am waiting for 3 weeks to get a refund. The only feedback i get from David Roberts is that I will get feedback they still working in it. I paid over $500 for a hotel room at the Hyatt Regency in Washington DC. The toilet didn't flush. I complained and was told they'd give me a $50 food and beverage credit - except I only has a $27.00 food and beverage bill. I was told I should have complained at midnight when I finally went to my room - they would have moved me. AT MIDNIGHT - in a sold out hotel - when I had a flight at 7:00 AM. I find it stunning that a hotel the supposed quality of Hyatt Regency had broken toilets. My wife and I basically threw away $3000.00 on this sham!First they offer you things like free gas, trips, hotel stays etc. to attend. Well as they say "nothing is free"! 24-7 Ride called me at 8:30 in the evening to tell me they weren't coming for my 6:30 a.m. trip to the airport for a business trip. They said they had tried to reach me -- but I had no messages on my machine from them (machine is working fine, thankyou). They said they had one car break down (excuse me, isn't this a transporation fleet?) and something like, we're not coming to your area. This company requires a $50 "activation fee" to process a free stay at a resort as long as you attend one of their timeshare presentations. The contract clearly states that this activation fee will be refunded as long as you attend the presentation. My wife & I checked in to the Days Inn located in Rancho Cordova CA. The room we were given was crawling with insects and there were cockroaches in the beds. The toilet was missing the bolts that secure it to the floor & the elevator was out of order for almost two weeks. I too was under the impression this was a free vacation that I had won, I was then informed this vacation was a reduced/discounted holiday.
