This summer I checked into the Wingate hotel in Allentown, Pa with my daughter. I booked through expedia on the phone. I brought up our luggage with the luggage cart, went out and when I returned had more things to bring to the room, which I was planning to stay in for three days. It was 11:30 pm and I was with my nine year old, and pulled my car to the front and asked for a luggage cart. The front desk person said I'd have to wait, two people just checked in and took them. Our room rate was quoted at $71 per night when we were charged $79.00 per night upon departure. The manager Kerry refused to adjust the bill. Upon further research we found out that the person who booked our room was fired the week before for not giving customers the correct room rates. Instead of adjusting the room rate to make good on the fired persons quote the manager ignored our complaint. Manager knew about the reservation clerk being fired and didn't acknowledge that fact to us. Very deceitful. read full review »

My husband & I booked a room at the European Village in Palm Coast, FL for a 1 night stay on a Saturday night. The resort and amentiies looked nice and upscale, we even liked our room! After we checked in we left the hotel to go see a movie in Ormond Beach. We returned to our room sometime around 10pm. We got a letter informing us that we had been selected to get two free airfare tickets for going to a presentation. I called the marketing agency (one of many working with and lying for All Inclusive Excursions/ Sealandtravel) and they said (3 times) that you walk out of there with two free airline tickets. Suckered into buying a time share in the late 80's in Cancun. Have paid maintanenece fees regularly till last year with out using the place even once though I exchanged it through RCI a few times with additional expenses since I could not get the weeks I wanted. Now I need to pay up front for meals at Cancun and they continue to raise fees with out any recourse. I have refused to pay for the 2008 dues and they have assigned CONCORD collection agency to collect. I have read many complaints regarding this Club. Me and my partner have been planning our trip for over a year. We sat thru a presentation given by Trend west in Vancouver Wash. In July of 2006. I purchased ticket insurance and after making a claim online was never contacted. I emailed them and they said they were sorry it took 4 months to get back to me and if I would supply the unused tickets and a NOTARIZED note from my employer that I was unable to attend the concert because of work. I stayed one night at this substandard Super 8 motel on Sept 15, 1909. I just saw it and checked in. I gave them my Wyndham Rewards number and the clerk said nothing about any special rate or non qualifying rate and that the stay would be honored. There was a charge of $71.27 on my Amex card which is more than it was worth. I was travelling to Bagram Military Base from Mumbai (Chatrapathi Shivaji terminus) to Dubai on 26th eptember 2009 night and got down at Dubai international airport terminal 3. The 300 bus did not turn up at 3.15 pm. My mother (86) and myself stood from 3.00 pm until 3.50 pm until one came. The driver said it was the road works on the Erskine Bridge but this is nonsense. Another old lady has been at the stop from 2.05 pm and no buses came at 2.15 pm or 3.15 pm. It doesn't take one and a half hours to come from Paisley. I made the unfortunate decision to join Brite Vacation Club. I was very apprehensive at first but the sales team talked a lot of good talk and I joined. The sales man stated that we could get a 2-3 bedroom suite in Disneylands Grand Californian Hotel. My family and I are very big Disney fans and have always wanted to stay there. I am having great difficulty in owning these time shares of Flexi-Club. Firstly, I have to pay an annual levy of R4800 and because of my current financial situation, I am unable to afford these levies. Although they are paid on a debit order monthly, I cannot afford them. In August, we flew Gulf Air from Dhaka to France and London. Often, we travel for work and we used to use Emirates and they have been very good except for on one occasion a Chinese air hostess made me miss my connecting flight telling that she would inform the airline and in fact she hadn't. On November 9, 2008, I authorized Travel Currency, Inc. to debit $3, 813.78 USD from my bank account to pay for a wire transfer to Costa Rica. I was informed by Travel Currency, Inc. that the transaction fee for the wire transfer would be $25.00 USD and that I would not be charged any other additional fees. Since this was 5 years ago, I do not recall the name of the website. As part of the purchase there was a requirement to visit a vacation rental for a 90 minute presentation. I was invited to a timeshare meeting for receiving a free night's stay in a Holiday Inn that was so filthy that my children and I slept on top of the covers on our backs with our clothes and shoes on. Last month in July, I had an air conditioning emergency and was referred to George Saleh of Airmaster Services in Houston, who installed a new air conditioning unit for $2, 600, which I paid for in full at the time of service.
