I purchased a frost free fridge freezer from Curries on 27/04/02 and paid ?125.00 for Coverplan cover. I telephoned you on Sat 12th August to report this and had to wait a rediculous 5 days before an engineer would come out. My husband was scammed by these people with the promise of a gold watch. He actually agreed on the phone to subscribe to ESPN Magazine. When they sent his “claim form” for the watch, they had thrown in 4 additional magazines. We called and tried to cancel, but we were told that “this is not a cancelable service” and they played a tape of my husband’s conversation with them. I made a spur of the moment purchase of a B&D blender and a B&D coffee maker b/c a $20 rebate was offered from Linens and Things. One was purchased in late December '05; the other in early January '06. The blender died several weeks ago while it was blending cooked chick peas and yogurt. We, like another customer who has written about his iron, wanted to try to fix the motor, but could not access the it b/c a very special screw driver is needed. I signed up with AA On-Line Moving & Storage in August 2005 to move our things from New Brunswick, NJ to Winter Haven, FL. I spoke with Mark Ash who was the salesmen and assured me that I was in good hands. The cost was $4,000 to ship our furniture and $289 a month for storage. When the person arrived to load our furniture on the truck they could barely speak english. We ordered an Equator #375S refrigerator ($1300+ w/tax and shipping) online through Universal Kitchen and Appliance in Studio City, California around July 23rd, 2005 to be delivered to our home in Northern California. I ordered two AutoCool solar powered fans for my car via the website autocooltv.com. Even though I opted-out for the shipping cost of the "free" cup holder caddy, they were shipped. The total charge for shipping was $7.95 for each unit. Making the order a total of $45.88 for two $14.95 products. The company is not refunding the shipping so by the time I return the units for a refund I will have spent at least $20 just to find out that if there are any truth in advertising laws they don't seem to apply to this product which lowered the temp in the car maybe two degrees. I understand that they charge a fee to come out and give a quote. I had requested this service and paid for it in the past. I managed a property in South Elgin and called Amy to get a quote. This was in October of 2005. It was a relatively big job regarding municipal code violations and other safety issues. The place is filthy. They don't clean up. I complained numerous times that the bathrooms needed attention. It took Multiple times for me to get someone to go in to clean it up. I was told by a snippy little lifeguard that they don't pay enough to clean. I also spoke to the manager mr. Gerhardt. He stated that they always clean and that was just a one time thing. My wife was in an automobile accident and in intensive care. I called the University Park Hotel @ MIT hotel 9 days in advance to cancel the reservation. I was informed that the reservation could not be cancelled and that the credit card had already been billed. Consumers should be aware of the cancellation policy. In an effort to clean up her credit my daughter signed up with Triple Advantage to get free credit reports. She did not register for any extra benefits and should but since that time has been getting monthly charges on her debit card. She has twice called the company to request that they stop charging her, they have agreed to do so each time, but continue to charge her account each month. This is the worst!
