Advantage / Car Rental
On today’s date, August 07th 2007, I had the misfortune of dealing with Advantage Car rental. A company has never treated me so rudely in my life; upon returning a vehicle to your Matheson location here in Mississauga, Ontario.
On Aug. 03, I was in an accident with my two children. Luckily no one was hurt. I was told I could have a car rented and delivered to me at the scene of the accident. I was more than willing to accept this offer and obliged to use this service. I was happy to see Advantage showed up within 20 minutes for my... read full review »
KitchenAid & Whirlpool
I bought the KitchenAid Washer Model # KAWS700LQ0 on Sept 16, 2003. At the time I bought it, it was there best warranty washer and cost me about $800.
The washer breaks down August 7th, 2007. I call there warranty / service department. I wait on hold for over 1 hour. They tell me it will take over 15 Days before there service man will be out to my house and that if the part is not under warranty that a $77 charge for just the service man to show up at my door. Also that I can not have anyone else look at the machine otherwise I will void... read full review »
Yardwork
Bought a tree pruning saw- brought it home, cut off about three branches and small ones at that- it fell apart, repaired it myself [7miles to Can Tire and no service there anyway]- back to work and it fell apart again in a different place- all this in the space of 2 hrs.- Will have to fix it again myself as the store has only 16 yr kids and the odd bored housewife working there- no real technical talent [I hold a couple of valid journeyman trades tickets and have a more than full shop]. The problem is that over and above the 50 bucks it cost... read full review »
Air Canada Aeroplan
Like many of the people who have expressed their loss of Aeroplan Ponts, I am in the same situation. Substantial number of points have been removed from account. I have been an aeroplan member since the early 90's and used them regularly, but was away on holidays and just learned July 31/07 that they canceled all my points.
I will try and call them August 1/07, but after reading other complaints of people on this site, I don't hold much hope for recovery.
Perhaps, we should all get together and start sending emails to our... read full review »
Aeroplan
All of my air miles have been removed from my account at Aeroplan because of no recent activity. I was not notified because they did not have my recent addresses. They did have my phone number and city of residence. When I called they said they have no leniency and they don't care if I want to hold this against Air Canada.
So much for having been a loyal customer! read full review »
Interscope Financial
On April first Interscope Financial contacted me and informed me that I was approved for a $5000.00 unsecured personal loan. They informed me that I was a high credit risk so they needed $661.76 upfront before I could get my loan. I sent them the money because they faxed me all the information on the loan along with there license. I waited three weeks and called them back to see what the status of my loan was. They informed me that They needed another $450 before I could get my loan due to credit ratings. I then asked them to refund my money... read full review »

When it didn't arrive I could only get through by e-mail and was told that they had reshipped it. The same thing - no delivery. This time they told me that if I didn't receive it they would refund my money to my Visa account. Canadian Tire / Yardworks Mower Product 60-1622-0
I went to a Canadian Tire store located in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada and bought a Yardworks mower on July 3, 2007, Product #60-1622-0. Overall it worked ok... for about the first 10 minutes. I can fix it cause it's just an adjustment with the carburetor and maybe have to replace the spring, but that would void my warranty. So I took it back on July 19, 2007 and asked if I could have it replaced. They initially said, "oh, it's got a 7 day return policy only." I asked to see the manager for this department at thi... read full review »

Bought the Yardworks Cordless Reel Lawnmower (model ( 60-1535-8) in May 2007 from Canadian Tire in Winnipeg. Used it twice before I realized that buying this mower was a great mistake. It simply does not cut the grass properly. Called customer service to voice my complaint and was told that I could not get a refund or exchange because it was used. Sent an e-mail to head office asking for a refund and challenged their policy on used items, asking: how can one know if something works unless you use it at least once? ALTA Richmond Hill Nissan
I went to the ALTA Nissan dealer at Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada to buy a car by trading in my old car. The sales agent called William Wou, used the Nissan website calculator to explain the monthly payment to me and then asked me to sign the contract and pay deposit. After I went home, I found out that calculator on the Nissan web site deducted the tax for the downpayment. It shouldn't be used for calculating the trade-in value of my old car because the trade-in value should be tax-free. This sales agent cheated me. Please be careful when you deal with this car dealer. read full review »

I found it shocking that when i made my first payment, they charged me for the Futureguard services, one which i had never confirmed or agreed to. Moreso, they are still charging me Futureguard services this month.

Nissan Pathfinder Chilicoot - Canada
Our 2002 nissan pathfinder/ chilicoot has only 120 000 kms on it and it blew the engine on the weekend. We have always maintained it and have never driven it hard. The dealership here in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada won't even take the time to tear the engine down to see what exactly broke inside of it. They are charging us over $5200 for a used engine on a truck that is only 5 years old and 20,000 kms over the warranty. They should be ashamed of themselves! read full review »

We were then denied the loan and they said we would get a refund for the amt. we wired them. We wired the money to them then they had to send us a cashiers check for our refund. Shoppers Drug Mart
I purchased some razor blades at your 1531 Bayview Ave store in Toronto and wanted to return them as they were $ 3 more than Pharma Plus (most of their items are overpriced but it was convenient). I tried to return them but because another person had used their optimum card for the purchase and they werent with me, I was told I couldn't return it without this card. This was a $ 13 item and I find it ridiculous that their system cant reconcile optimum card points electronically without the physical card there. This occurred Sat June 30 at 9:30 am and the manager was involved. I will not be shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart again. read full review »

We hired this company to handle a mortgage contract between ourselves and another person who wanted to purchase our land. The lawyer looked over and advised us the contract was fine and that he hoped the person would default so then we would get our land back. Anyway when the driver arrived he asked for a COD of $21.14 for brokerage and taxes. This is more than the item was worth. I was advised by the driver to call and complain. That got me no where. The girl didn't give a dam and said too bad you should have checked the web site first.
