I am in the same boat as the two other complainants on this site. My DCS stove has not worked properly for more than a year. The simmer burners have been fluttering for longer than that, and now the ignition system never stops clicking as long as a burner is turned on. It is maddening. Also, the burners are advertised as being sealed. Yet, there is not a single gasket between them and the stove top. I was looking for a nice bedroom set for sometime and finally found one at the place. I dealt with a nice salesman and I decided to purchase the entire set and left my deposit. The furniture was delivered and on the surface looked to be ok. After further examining the pieces there were scratches and chips on numerous spots. Kenmore Gas Range
I have a Sears Kenmore Gas Range Model 790 which we purchased end of 2005. I just used the self-clean option for the first time last night. (I wipe the oven quite frequently & place foil-covered pan under items to catch drips). I went into the kitchen after a couple of hours and found that the knobs for the stove had melted... one is unusable and two others are barely usable.

My wife and I purchased a 3-piece upholstered couch set from Prestige for $2,000.00. For about $250 more we also purchased an extended 5 year manufacturer's warranty. We thought that would cover us. Boy, we were wrong. THIS IS BASICALLY A COMPLAINT THAT WILL DETER ME FROM RENEWING ANY CONTRACT WITH SEARS IN THE FUTURE. I ordered two wrought iron wall hangings from Tranquility Alley in October of 2007. My credit card was immediately charged $727.97. A&E Factory Service / Kitchen Aid
A&E was called to repair a KitchenAid microwave and oven unit that stopped functioning. They are recommended for service by KitchenAid on their web site. The technician said I needed a new control board. He ordered one (which cost $600), it came (marked "refurbished") and he promptly installed it and the oven and microwave unit worked again. In November 2007, we visited the Schumacher Homes center in Greenville, South Carolina and met with Ms. Lisa Olson of Schumacher Homes. Based on a previously provide quote on building a home on our land in the Greenville area, we entered into a contract with Schumacher to have our home built. I bought a sofa and loveseat from Ashley for $1140; they delivered it damaged, but my wife did not notice it when she accepted the delivery. One arm of the loveseat was heavily damaged. Had to have new french-door style refrigerator repaired 3 times in first year. Finally, they agreed to replace it with new one. After purchasing an extended warranty door hinge broke. Repaired and door replaced but old parts have been here for "dispatch" to pick-up for nearly a month. We purchased a Silestone quartz surface countertop in 2002 with a ten year warranty. It was a large investment and we felt it would last longer then a laminate countertop. However, we found a defect in the stone (chip) within six months and now we have two cracks and a seam that is easily noted.

I have lived with three Kitchen Aid appliances for the last three years and I am truly disappointed. The dryer began making a loud clunking sound a year in service and it took the repair man five visits to fix. It still makes noise but it is out of warranty and I will replace it soon with something made offshore. Same goes with the washing machine which sounds like the belt or bearings are failing and the refrigerator which makes more noise than my Bosch dishwasher. What a mistake. We had the same problem as sooo many others, but we had good luck with getting the bad HV board replaced free of charge even though our frig. was 4 mos. out of warranty. It seems to help if you mention this website when you call and tell them you know the scope of this problem. All in all, we were pleased with the service we received. We had a new board at our house within three days and installed the next. On 11/20/2007, I ordered a dishwasher and paid for installation, as a Christmas gift for my mother.
