I had to sign-up with download-gate.com to be able to download a file. I thought I signed-up for a 3-day period for $1.95. My CC account shows a charge of $41.90 plus a foreign transaction charge. I have not been able to download the file. My attempts to do so result in being cycled through several other websites. A mysterious charge of $47.50 appeared upon my bank statement from "Google Whiz" with a customer service number from my bank as 866-995-9803. When calling that number the representatives say that they are not Google Whiz and provide the customer service number of 877-866-2431 that rings to an advertisement for a talk-line and then disconnects. We purchased this PC utility software to use the Partition Management facilities. When we select this option we get a VD burning screen. The promised facilities do not exist. Nothing happens when the Settings option is selected. The only text in the help file is 'Help Demo by Julian Smart. Contents, Introduction, Chapter 2' That is it in its entirety. I ordered a movie from amazon and like so many others I got charged a $1, then a week later I was charged the 29.95 also. There is no mention of the fee in fact when I went back on to check after talking with the sales rep, I found where they supposedly tell you about the fee. It's in a flashing red box on the side of the screen where the ads were. It looks like an ad and has a different name, so people aren't aware. This company (really one guy and his helper) installed a window for me and then did yard work. He installed the window crooked and it leaks. I tried to call him numerous times to fix and he wouldnt return the calls. He asked for cash only and offered a discount but thankfully I paid him with a check and was able to cancel the check. I paid $85 for a bear and some balloons to be delivered to a friend of mine for his birthday. He says he gets a FedEx box with a little bear and some chocolates. No balloons attached.
