Without contacting an adjoining neighbor or running lines to determine property boundaries, Matt Spicer preceeded to tear up two feet past into a neighbors driveway and property when contracting work next door. When approached about infringement and damages, Spicers denied any wrongdoing. We purchased a King Koil Mattress Feb. 17, 2009 from American Freight. At the time of purchase the salesman, Chris Botero assured us of a 20 yr warranty. That was 8 months ago. The mattress we purchased has collapsed on one side. When I reported it to them they informed me the warranty was void because we did not purchase the foundation with it. I have a Kenmore gas range that was purchased at the end of 2005. Yesterday the glass door to the oven shattered into a million + peices for no apparent reason. There was no one in the kitchen at the time, and the oven had not been on all day, so it wasn't that someone hit it or that the oven was hot. A phone call to Sears was fruitless. I have a Kenmore Range - Model: 790.96119408 on which the left front burner comes on by itself, without warning. This morning, the unit came on by itself and nearly started a fire in my kitchen. The unit has been in use for just over a year. Other similar Frigidaire/Kenmore ranges have been recalled - however Sears refuses to fix this product under the terms of the recall, nor acknowledge the product as defective. This product is dangerous and should be recalled and Sears investigated for failing to act sooner regarding the problem with their defective products. read full review »

On 10-13-09 my boyfriend and I went to the Westgate Mall in Amarillo, TX to Sears in order to purchase a brand new 18 in gas powered Craftsman chainsaw. GE Profile gas range model PGB918SEM1SS. The burner knobs on this stove are made of plastic with a fake stainless steel veneer. The heat from the oven vents, (a row of vents located directly below the burner knobs) is melting the knobs. These knobs (6 of them) cost a whopping $35 each to replace with the same type of knob, which will simply melt again unless all the knobs are removed when the oven is in use. Real stainless steel knobs are not available. Also, the round burner caps over the gas burners are melting around the edges. read full review »

I am very upset with this "company". Here is a basic rundown of what has been going on and the phone conversation that I had with a customer service rep. last night. I purchased furniture from Value City in Brook Park, OH in December of 2006. We also purchased a Stainsafe warranty with the furniture which covers any type of fluid spill including bodily fluids and animal fluids for 7 years. This past July our cat urinated on our sectional. I left a message on Monday leaving my number and there was no call back. I also have emailed the company on Sunday asking for info on my order. I have contacted the bank and they told me that they TOOK THE AMOUNT OF £39.99 TWICE!!! I have called again and finally managed to speak to someone who denied having received my order. First of all the remote stops on any given number so that my 87 yr old grandmother cannot even use the bed. My husband got her the bed so that so could get in and out of the bed easier on her own. We regrettably own Natuzzi living room furniture which we bought from Sofa Express. This turned out to be a double whammy. Sofa Express is now defunct in our area and the Natuzzi "leather" couch we bought through them is junk. I followed the cleaning and conditioning product instructions given with (and paid for the lifetime refill program) the leather furniture to protect my warranty. I hired My Handyman for a door install. The technician said it would take 4-5 hours because I had a screen door that had to be dismantled. 6 1/2 hrs and he still didn't finish. I had no doorknob, no trim and no screen door! When I asked him about that he said it would be more time and he would have to continue to charge the $88/hr. I didn't notice the damage to my siding until 3 days later. Needless to say I won't using them again! I will write a new post if I am able to come to some kind of compensation for my siding. read full review »

It may be more because I only started keeping track after 4 months. They do manage to place a $180 hold on my credit card twice a month. When we wanted to return the lighting fixture, it took two weeks of daily phone calls to receive a return authorization. (There were vague excuses that didn't make sense.) We just spent our first night on our new bed. We chose to set it up ourselves and while the set up was simple, we did encounter a few problems. We have an expensive wooden 4 poster king size frame with a center board. Our bed came with a king size coverlet for the foundation which will not work with our bed frame. Bought the "Marielle" style kitchen faucet in 2006, it leaked at the single lever main trunk. Returned it to Home Depot, they gave me a second one. Plumber installed it, and I was happy, but... It leaked the same, and has still for 3 yrs. Asked HD for a fix, but they said email customer relations at Price Pfister. PP waited a month to reply, sent ball/washer to fix, but said I owed them $5 for postage! I don't think so. That's 3 plumber's bills I am out already. My son had a Home fire on 7/1/09. Cause of fire was deemed electrical. Kemper Insurance has done little to settle this claim.(As of 10/17/09) A deposition was scheduled. It was a gruely horrible defiling experience. The attorney call the insured ( my son) a liar during the deposition. When asked if a previous insurance claim had been made the answer was no. I received my furniture curbside deliver, no other option available. The pallet was stacked approximately 7' high & was full. Even the delivery driver remarked on the packing b/c he had a difficult time getting it out of the truck. This business should be closed down. They have the worst customer service of any furniture store I've experienced. We ordered dining room furniture in June and it still hasn't arrived. The customer service (Cathy Grindstaff) called me 12 weeks after the order to tell me the fabric for the dining room chairs is no longer availabe...it took them 12 weeks to figure that out and I would have to re-select.
