There was an overcharge for a very small service of fixing a cut on my son's forehead. This took about 10 minutes. Total charges were an extraordinary $1500 or so. Doc component was about $700. I sent rent.com $850 as a deposit on an apartment in Fenway. They told me once payment was received I would be able to look at the apartment and then the contract would be sent and I could finalize the details. After sending the $850 they told me I needed to send the next 5 months rent upfront or the contract was void! I never received a confirmation of my online order. After not letting me know that the item had to be backordered (although they say on their website they will let you know immediately), they charged my credit card for the item (although their website said my card wouldn't be charged until the order was processed)! On March 12, 2009, an unauthorized withdrawal in the amount of $110.88 was made on our checking account. We have never had contact with TWX Sports Illustrated, never ordered anything through them, nor received any merchandise from them. When we tried to contact the company on April 9, 2009, after seeing the entry on our bank statement, we were put into an automated answering system that requested information that we could not provide since we've never received a statement, magazine, or any other information. We are building a house in CA. Heard good things about thankless water heaters. Went online, found company in AZ. Ordered two units. They arrived with no invoices. When contacted, the owner stated if he provided invoices he'd have to charge more. Anyway, the units weren't what we expected, returned both. Several weeks after my wife dropped off a car rented from County Car Rental our American Express was charged for $1200 for damages. When the car was rented several areas were noted on the rental agreement showing damages that had occurred prior to the rent agreement. Hi, during my time in NZ, we hired a vehicle from United Vehicle Rentals they did not tell us about a 5000 dollar excess that had to be paid in order to pick up the vehicle from them. So upon arrival in NZ we went to pick up the vehicle and were demanded to pay the 5000 dollars. i got caught in the same scam. they send you a cheque and ask you to cash it. they then ask you tto send money to them via moneygram. after that you can go and spend all the money you want out of the rest of the cheque. only problem is 2 days after the cheque bounces and it is hard to get a hold of the person.
