I signed up for a course offered by Prospering Inc (I signed up for their ecommerce course for over $10000), which I found out now that they have their share of complaints. Prosper Learning is associated with a lot of other companies in Utah that they refer their students to, this is how they help each other to make money and that's their only goal. I recently ordered a royal empress tree from this company on line. What I received was a mostly dead "stick" with 1 root. there were no branches or leaves. We planted it but the "tree" is dead.We spent almost 85 dollars! The customer service department is a joke! I just placed an order for photos through Shutterfly's Web site. I indicated that I would be picking up the photos at my local Target store. Upon check out, Shutterfly is not only sending my photos to Target for pick-up, they are also sending a duplicate to my home. Not only are they sending me a duplicate I do not want. They are also charging me for them - including shipping charges. This complaint concerns the company's refusal to honor their commitment to pay for return shipping of one of their defective laptop batteries. Their game is to cause a customer to pay for shipping a claimed defective battery to Canada instead of WA. This is a large cost to send a 3 lb battery. On Friday, March 11, 2011, I visited a website, Music Crawler, to download music for a new country cd I was burning. At sign-up, I selected trial offer for 4.95 and proceeded to agree to ALL of the online terms. Within a year of owning the Cuisinart coffeemaker DTC 975 series, I had it replaced once; the second pot malfunctioned within 2mos. Total cost of shipping on my part approx. $20. for each replacement. Told by Co. rep. out of thousands of coffeemakers there may be 50 defective. I of course received two of them. Why should I incur the extra expense of shipping for their defective product. I've decided not to chance another defective pot and absorb the loss. The original cost was $99.00. I purchased a pair of shoes from Zappos.com. for an upcoming trip to Europe. I had a pair of shoes form the same manufacturer for years and loved them. On Sept. 18th I purchased a 50% off coupon for the Gap($50.00 coupon for $25.00). When I found I had to wait 3-4 days for the email coupon I immediate requested a refund. I was responded to quickly and the charge hit on the 22nd and a credit was posted on the 23rd. Burt & Associates is a commercial collection agency that has been harrassing me for months. I have filed complaints with the FTC and the BBB. They have a gentleman calling using the name of " Greg Smith, he yells and screams at you on the phone and gives deadlines of when you are to call him back, but nothing ever happens.
