Car Max
Not so savvy car buyer December 4, 2009
We all know how deceptive Car Companies can be, but it surprised me that Car Max, which is a self-described "no bullshit" car company would be running this scam. When you buy a car, in my case, a 2001 Lincoln Navigator, the salesman pressures you to buy the extended warranty. This is not cheap, in my case I purchased the warranty for $1800, figuring that a "no bullshit" company would have a "no bullshit" warranty. Surprisingly, such was not the case. During my extended warranty, the transmission went out on my... read full review »

I signed up for credit card help and they promised that if I signed up they would settle my debt for half or less. All they have done so far is take fees from the money I sent them. They have failed to keep up there end of the bargain. They have not contacted any of my creditors to negotiate any plan or to say that I am part of a debt settlement program. I sent emails and left messages for my contact and no one will call or email me back. I went online to look for this company and see if there were any complaints about them and low and behold... read full review »

Grant Writing Express
Michael January 21, 2009
Look out! If you sign up for your 'free' Grant Writing Express CD, you are also agreeing to paying $54.96 / month, once your first 'free' month is over. That information is in small type near the end of the pages. I did not see it. When I discovered the charge, I phoned to complain. The best I could get was a 50% refund. Any time it's 'free' be sure to read ALL the fine print. I didn't, and got whopped. read full review »

Merchant Tech Solutions
Debbie Miller August 12, 2009
This company is marketing a nebulous "tech support" package. There is no confirmation of having subscribed. They just get your information from another company with whom they contract and have misleading "$20 off" coupons. The company who provides the credit card information, etc. may unwittingly (or not) be party to this deceptive Internet scam and locked into a contract. The person who purchases something as simple as memory for a computer may find several months later a charge of 49.95 on their bank statements -- with no... read full review »

Brett Matthews Photography, 86 Mineola Avenue, Roslyn Heights NY 11577, (516) 621-4242 Brett Matthews was the photographer who shot my daughters wedding. After the wedding the actual photographer himself said he "dropped the ball". I know there are always 3 sides to every story, but what a photographer shoots or misses, speaks for itself. Yes we got some nice pictures-well we didn't get them yet, were still trying to get the paid in full album and it's now May 07 the wedding was in Oct 05. Zumiez

My 13 year old son (who regularly buys product from the local Burbank Zumiez) purchased two t-shirts for me (dad) as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, he purchased the wrong size (too small). He took them back to the store within a few days past Christmas and was told that he could not exchange them because he no longer had the receipt. He explained that he unfortunately had already thrown it away. The store refused to exchange the two t-shirts and so basically the money that he had saved for my present was lost. He is really devastated that... read full review »

I saw an ad for Prado e-cigarettes the price was $5.90 for the starter kit, Then they charged my account for $149.90 I did not agree to $149.90, this caused my bank account to get messed up by the time it was over I had incurred over $400.00 in fees for returned checks and overdraft fees. I called the call center i was told that they could not process my account, I was told that to return the product I had to have their permission and they had to give me a number. I have a similar story to the others. I was mislead by deceiving product advertising to purchase a lego set when they were really selling only the USED instruction manual for $50, which happens to be the same price of the set. There were at least 10 photos of the lego set on the product description page as if they were selling the full set. No where on the page did they clearly state that they were only selling a manual and not the actual set. I quickly became aware of my mistake and tried to contact customer service to revoke my order. I was approached by an independent rep from Ardyss International about signing up under her. I declined that but inquired about the product. She measured me and I paid her $170.00. When she brought the garment, the package had been opened already. I took it home and looked at it, and determined that since I have a condition with my back, I would not be able to wear it. Sears/Kenmore Dryer
jofattire February 3, 2011
My wife and I purchased a Kenmore front loading washer and dryer from Sears on May 17, 2010, in Rochester Minnnesota. In January of 2011 the dryer stopped heating. A service call was made, and the technician discovered that the thermostat(heating regulator) was the wrong model. How was this not caught in production? I would think that the production facility would have a QA team with the same tools as the technicians have. A diagnostic check at the end of production would have caught this. Better yet, why were the wrong parts put on that... read full review »

Anyone who lives in Baton Rouge knows how inflexible our water company is. If you are lucky enough to actually get service, you WILL be subjected to some of the rudest women in Baton Rouge, bar none. But this is not my complaint. If the consumer want to get the lowest price and the most out of every heating dollar with absolutely no chance of losing their money or fraud. Then, buy heating oil like you would purchase gasoline for your car. Shop for the lowest price available and pay C.O.D. (cash on delivery). What most program consumers do not know will hurt them, that is if a program oil company does lower it price to one person then all others in the program should get the same discounted price but do they? In reality I think not! Any program consumer must stand as a... read full review »
